Vanity   Help identify this snake found in my bedroom!  Please!!

light brown/grey snake, no obviously pointed head, skinny about 10-12 inches long, looks like a baby 
how can i identify this quickly before I figure out what to do with it.

    snake is in bathtub, dropped big dictionary on tail and got coffeecan to put it in. didn't make it outside butis now in bathtub  Hurry! Add some Calgon. Then, the snake will be as relaxed as creamed corn.

    A lot of these posts had me laughing but you topped them all!!! I'm glad the snake isn't underfoot any longer. I was getting the heebie-jeebies just imagining what the poor lady was going through.

Of course, my brothers best friend just died Saturday night from being bitten on the finger by a baby rattlesnake, while he was in his garage. He was 45.

    Luckily you don't have the garter snake problems we had - growing up in New Hampshire, they were everywhere along the streams I fished in... (I'd bring them home and would have as many as I could find in the swimming pool (no chlorine), in case my step-dad went to take a late night swim... sometimes I'd put buckets of minnows in, too... but I digress...) 
In the winter, these things would hibernate in large numbers - and you'd stumble across them occasionally... :0)
