Greetings all. I made it back home. On I-35 headed north through Austin, there is a overpass under construction going over I35. On one of the upright supports, before the bridge girders have been placed, the construction crew has attached a giant US Flag. I was listening to the MTC patriotic songs CD when I went by that. I got a lump in my throat.

Just a little curious...how big is it? Are you going to work alone?
To: still lurking
The quilt is 54" by 62". It is kinda big to hang on a wall somewhere, but I think I have the perfect wall to hang it on. And I am making it by myself, all except for the quilting part. I had visions of grandeur of sewing the block together and then quilting it every month, but that dream didn't last long!

During the construction at Lambeau Field there has continuously been a flag flying at the very top of the highest scaffold. I get that same lump every time I pass by.

I'm glad you had a safe trip home!
To: Utah Girl
Thanks. At least I had more than one cd this time. 8>)
How is everything going with your nephew?

Construction workers tend to be pretty patriotic guys.
For my R&R this weekend, I am ripping out the tiny little built-in pantry, and replacing it with a rolling full-size sheet pan rack and 10 full-size sheet pans. It will provide more flexibility, and allow for easier cleaning, and MUCH easier locating things.
It looks like it belongs in a resturant (it does), but the convenience is too good to pass up. I'll try to take pictures.

I forgot to post the information on Jacob. He is doing extremely well. His hematacrit climbed another 3 points, there are just a few fragmented blood cells in his blood, and his blood pressure is just a little high. He is his old self again. The dr was very optimistic, said it looked as if the storm was over. They take him back in a month for another checkup, which is the best news, they were taking him in at least once a week. Thanks for all your prayers, it is truly appreciated. :)

Post your pictures of the rolling rack. I have a pot rack, but nowhere handy to store my sheet pans, etc.
And I am so surprised, just checked my work email, and the code is ready to test for tomorrow morning. Tis a miracle.

(((DJ88))), we're all praying sweetie ... prayers of health and healing for your father, for peace, faith, strength and comfort for you and the rest of the family, and for guidance and wisdom for his doctors. As Singapore Yank said so well, "Keep your mind stayed on God and know that nothing can or will happen that He doesn't allow and know how to handle."
/john, my, my! That's quite some R&R you have planned there. Thanks for letting us know that you made it home safely. What a joy it must have been for you and your family to be reunited. Same goes for you, Jemian. I'll bet you received a very enthusiastic welcome home yourself.
Good night, friends.

You might be able to find a picture on www.acemart.com for a proofing rack. It's about 5 1/2 foot tall or so, and has space for 20 full-size (the big ones that won't go in our ovens) sheet pans, with bread or whatever on top of each pan. We're going to use it for pantry-style storage, and leave space for however tall stuff is.
If you are like me, and have commercial sheet pans, you probably have half-pans. They fit most household ovens. Full-size sheet pans require commercial ovens. You could use them for boats or something. BIG!
The neat trick is that you can store 2 half-pans (the ones I have now) on each slide. I'll have a place to store my sheet-pans, and pantry storage where I actually SEE what is in there. It's a trick I picked up recently. It's pretty handy. ;>)

Molly, you're going away again? I guess we'll just have to suffer and put up with missing you some more for a couple of days :). Have a good and safe trip.
May good, old fashioned summer fun be in store for you this weekend!
