You're probably right about the shortness of the time to have the testing done on the defense's side; however, in this case the defendant can't blame anyone else for that because he was the one that insisted on a speedy trial.

No, remember Shen saying in twnty days she didn't have enough time to compare some fibers. She did nothing for twenty days after looking at the fibers under the microscope. And the defense didn't even get access to most of the evidence until the trial was under way. It is a prosecution stall strategy.

But regarding the speedy trial, once defense realizes LE is falsifying evidence, every day that passes is another day that prosecution can use to fabricate or destroy evidence as necessary, and get their story straight, and eliminate inconsitencies. Once the evidence is disclosed, it is frozen, and they can't alter it anymore because it is a matter of public record.
