Letters to judge opened to public

The judge in the trial of David Westerfield today allowed reporters to see court log entries of notes from jurors, as well as letters to the judge from the public about the murder of Danielle van Dam.

The letters from the public included a variety of theories about the case.

Jurors ask to review pictures, interview

One letter-writer sent the following theory to Judge William Mudd: "Danielle van Dam killed herself.''

A nearly illegible postcard with a Spokane postmark alluded to at least one ex-wife "with a drinking problem (who) lives in Spokane.''

The writer failed to indicate whether the reference was to ex-wives of Westerfield – who has been married and divorced twice – or someone else connected with the case.

The postcard was unsigned.

Another missive came from a man who referenced another high-profile murder trial – that of O.J. Simpson.

"The O.J. Simpson case was a miscarriage of the state's justice mainly because Judge (Lance) Ito was too lenient with the actors defending O.J.,'' the man wrote.

There was no news Wednesday afternoon about the status of deliberations, but Mudd announced he was holding a sealed hearing 9:30 a.m. Thursday to consider an unspecified defense motion in the case.

Wednesday was the fifth day of deliberations. The prosecution concluded its closing arguments last Thursday.

Westerfield is accused of kidnapping 7-year-old Danielle van Dam from her Sabre Springs home and killing her.

He could face life in prison or the death penalty if convicted of murder with special circumstances.

He has also been charged with misdemeanor possession of child pornography.

The log entries show that on Friday, the jury requested ``all available evidence of pornographic images'' and a photograph of a teen-age daughter of the defendant's ex-girlfriend.

What is with these people and left feet? These three girls were each found naked with only one sock, on the left foot. Danielle's left foot was missing. What sort of weird cult does/do this/these killers belong to?

And there is also a common element of water. Adam Walsh's head was found in a canal. We don't know about his foot, because he body was never found.

Want to know something else very strange? Damon lived in each of these areas when these kids went missing. Kind of like a follow up fright after reading www.unposted.com .

Don't believe the missing left foot or sock thing is just in these cases? Wasn't Chandra Levi missing her left foot? Here's a left sock story that goes way back:

Stepping back a little to get an overall view of San Diego. Something I can't put my finger on, but trying to figure out how in the world Van Dams and all could be ruled out so quickly. Thinking about the international public relations firm so quick to, at no cost to Van Dams, come to their aid to protect their privacy. I was searching the internet for occult activity in San Diego. Covens, cults, etc. Date of Danielle's disappearance . . . We only have the parents word (and their friends) about the time line of the early morning hours of Feb. 2. I've read some pretty incredible things from last night.

"Too bad the juror's couldn't read these threads, huh".

Maybe one is? Who knows.

But the wealth of information and questions FReepers have laid out is worth bookmarking if there ever is another trial or an appeal.

Isn't it amazing what we all have turned up? LE took just 48 hours to clear the Van Dams and the entire Pizza Party group. What is wrong with that picture?

It's no wonder the media can't get over that the Jury hasn't reached a verdict yet. If it took a mere 48 hours to clear the VD's and incriminate Westerfield, the guilty verdict should have been in by now...LOL!

Seems to me that there is an established pattern here of not finding the necessary stuff the first time around and it miraculously there the next day.

Maybe the items were caught in a time warp of some sort becaused of the cloaking device Stealth Ninja Dave used. The cloaking device can only work so long before it needs to be recharged. Thus, the items appear.

Maybe I need to re-foil my hat.
