After listening to Bill O'Reilly on The Radio Factor for a couple of months, I am very curious to hear what fellow Freepers think of the show, based on O'Reilly's performance so far.
-- Are the topics of no interest to you, or are they intriguing?
-- Does Bill lean too much left or right, or is he fair to all parties?
-- Is the show worth your time, or are you disappointed when you realize you have lost two hours of your day to the radio?
-- Does Bill need to stick to TV, and stay away from radio, or should he keep going strong?
-- I can't remember her name, but as far as the lady that co-hosts the show with Bill, is she a good co-host or are you sick of listening to her? Does she lean too much left or right?
-- Should Bill listen to more callers or less callers, or about the same number as he has done in the past?
These questions and more have been eating away at me for a while now, and I want to hear your opinion. Thank you!
Does he think he is still on TV? Who told him to have that whimpy female on the show? Does Rush need a broad to play to? Hannity? Savage? Praeger? I know Medved sometimes pretends to be Dawn Waterfall, or whatever he calls himself during those episodes when he loses his senses and Imus has a bunch of guys that he thinks are funny, but Medved and Imus are strictly second string IMO.
I went back and listened to Walter Williams and was altogether grateful that he was on the air. Never listened to O'Reilly again and won't in the future.
Did Bill O'Reilly post this looking for feedback, er what? Bill who?
To put it simply, NO. I have never talked to Mr. O'Reilly or anyone associated with him, I am only a viewer.
I no longer watch this jerk's t.v. show, much less listen to him on the radio
You have the right to your opinion.
I'm sorry you haven't gotten more replies. Apparently no one listens to his radio show. I have to listen to his TV show because Hubby always watches it. I'm not impressed as a whole. He could be worse I guess.
Hmmm... Interesting perspective...
Tell us what you think....
My thoughts are at the bottom of this post...
When O'Reilly first came on radio I tuned him in... I lasted about ten minutes because he was so pitiful.
Does he think he is still on TV? Who told him to have that whimpy female on the show? Does Rush need a broad to play to? Hannity? Savage? Praeger?
Well, we agree on one thing: the female is unnecessary. However, that isn't a reason to stop listening entirely.
Never listened to O'Reilly again and won't in the future.
You have the right to your opinion.

Well, how do I respond to all of this? I knew from the emails that he reads at the end of the show that there are people who don't like him (yes, he even reads the bad ones), but sheesh. Of course, this is hard to base on a measly four posters, but Bill's batting 0/4 right now!
As far as my personal opinion, I do not think that Bill could ever match the skills of Rush Limbaugh. I also do not always agree with Mr. O'Reilly on every subject. However, he always backs up his opinion with points based on the facts. I believe that Mr. O'Reilly, while he may not be correct in every matter, is one of the best journalists when placed in debates. He is quick on his feet, can interrogate better than most, if not all, journalists, and he brings a fair, "no-spin" point-of-view to the table.
Because my area plays The Radio Factor from 8-10PM, I am able to listen to Limbaugh in the morning, watch The O'Reilly Factor at five in the afternoon, and finish the day with The Radio Factor. Of course, I do not do this every day. There are quite a few days when I am too busy to remember (or have time) to switch on the TV or radio.
In conclusion, I would like to say that while Bill isn't toppling anybody in radio, he is blasting MSNBC and CNN out of the water in the 5PM and 8PM time slots (8PM and 11PM if you are in the Eastern Time Zone). He achieves these ratings by fair and balanced reporting and an "I want answers!" attitude. If you disagree, feel free to steer clear of his shows.
Time to turn on Rush...
b) I got fed up with his self-promotion ( the same with Rush and his cigars, Marta, name dropping of his golfing buddies, etc) Uh-huh. Do you have a quote for me or just your generalization?
c) IMO, he has a masochistic streak, otherwise, why would invite artel to criticize him on air. I would argue against that statement.
Finally,... he let his friend donohue ramble on with his leftist socialistic beliefs while only offering a cursory challenge to the garbage that moron was spewing. I must have missed that show... However, with your past statements, I doubt the challenge was cursory.
Also, it might interest you to know that I rarely watch foxnews since they hired geraldo and greta. No, I'm not interested. Don't accuse me of not wanting to hear the other side because that's all we've been subjected to from the broadcast channels for all these years. Amen... Finally we get an intelligent statement...
I get most of the news updates from FR, John Huang2 and Kattracks do a fabuloues job of keeping me informed just to mention two posters. Well, if that's how you wanna get your news, more power to ya.
Are you accusing me or yourself of being Bill O'Reilly? Well, I know that I am NOT Mr. O'Reilly, and I don't think that Mr. O'Reilly would post an opinion against himself on a FR thread so he can't be you, which leads me to my conclusion that maybe, just maybe, Bill is a person other than you and I, and has never spoken with, associated with, or even heard of panther33 or poet on FR or anywhere else. Do you think that might just have a teeeeny bit of a possibility, poet?
You know what, I don't even care. If you want to think that I am Bill, you go right ahead. No skin off my back.

His biggest weakness is that he's not a philosopher and can sometimes take wildly contradictory positions. He gets killed on the homo stuff because he won't argue from a natural law position. And he's woefully ignorant of religion (even his own) and its effect on culture.
