Moisture evaporated...because of temp, santa ana winds and possibly the heat radiating off of the roads.
If she was killed friday night or saturday, and if she was kept in a bag or something within a storage compartment for example..it's a barrior. If the mummiologist was correct about his findings wrt:age, size of children ....if the skin DID mummify within 24 hrs...there's no other argument. It accounts for why the 7 orfices that were still intact, eyes, ears, nostrils and mouth, did not have bug activity.

Oh yes, Redlipstick, tell em off, hit and run.
I am STILL waiting for you to post a retraction or Source out, the disinformation you posted about ME yesterday..I'd be running off to Disneyland too if I were you, LOL.
It's a shame you couldn't have apologized for that garbage you posted about my boasting about not watching the Prosecutions witnessess. Which, is about as wrong as it gets.
Just read the names you have called the other side...and take off that halo of yours, you have no class.

I think you are correct that he doesn't understand the concept. However I doubt that median would ever be a factor in his calculations. I was surprised when Goff said that he took each day's high and low and computed a "median". This whole thing may stem from the fact that Goff doesn't understand the difference either. Statistics is used in many fields. To say these guys have Phd's, make math mistakes and cannot talk coherently about the difference between mean and median strains credibility.
So if a juror decides to effectively ignore bug science, it is reasonable. I think this witness accomplished no progress for the defense, and reinforced the confusion about bug science, for the prosecution.
Either a draw, or slight win for Dusek.

You all need to consult with a coroner before making such statements. "It is also important to note that though the victim's anus was dilated, this by itself does not indicate or suggest anal penetration. The anus is a sphincter; a muscle which is tight and closed in most living individuals, and always open and dilated in deceased individuals.
When someone dies their anus relaxes and dilates. The presence of a dilated anus taken to indicate sexual assault or rape is a very common misinterpretation made by untrained individuals when examining those who have met with violent death."

I personally know of no cases where this has happened, other than true mummification of bodies (like those found thousands of years later). I suppose it isn't saying much to say that I don't know of any such cases, because I am NOT a forensic entomologistWhich is why the prosecution called Rodriguez, an anthropologist who does specialize in the decomposition and/or mummification of bodies.
The prosecution has been widely mocked by some here for calling such a witness as a foundation to their entomologist.
Thanks for your insights here today. What do you make of the the flies/head condition of the victim?

"I'll agree it's cool when I see it has worked."
It worked the first time but now it wants to post ALL my responses to everyone each time I try it. My computer expert (granddaughter) will be here tomorrow and she can help me out. Thanks....

All discussion of this was about 1. to show that bugs didn't eat from the inside out from an early date and 2. to explain why the moisture content was a factor in why the bugs didn't attack the head... and 3. Prosecution forced the defense witness to admit that this wasn't a normal case and that he'd never seens a body like danielle's before..especially before the body had been removed from the crime scene. and 4. the aneorbic and aerobic bacteria, while not mentioned today did play a factor in her decay..you'll have to read past discussion with regard to the bacteria.

I never got to the new offsite site, but I just noticed that the old chat is there again now with only a couple of folks there.
Anyone else?
