Lanza, the dept. I worked in was in a small town, so my experience with missing child calls is limited. Most of the time it involved a child not coming home from school on time. After getting a name, description, age, weight,height,clothing and when last seen we advised the parent to stay at home and officer on the way. It always turned out OK, thank God! BVD sounded pretty typical on 1st listening to the tape except for her description of Danielle. The 911 operator did catch that if I'm not mistaken. Could have been nervousness on BVD part. Disecting the call, my question would be dog barking? and alarm beeping?

You know, cyn......You few that get called VDAs can hardly get upset when you make a statement like this.

For one thing, Brenda and Damon are not on trial for their lives, nor has anyone murdered them.

Furthermore, their activities have been testified to by their own lips. It's not the case that someone is attempting to prove they are swingers......they are.

Obviously Dave Westerfield and his son look at pornography. For the record, I hate any kind of porn and child porn has to be the worst. It's very sick.

However, if that practice makes for a believable motive, a logical person cannot overlook the van Dams in the same breath. Heaven only knows what has gone on in that household.

As for BVD and DVD being equal in God's eyes, the answer is, "Absolutely." But.........that for which they are being "condemned" is not speculation or assumption. As for forgiveness....that is between them and God.

As for those that are so eager to defend them and downplay their swinging, it is morally and intellectually dishonest. Regardless of what degree they contributed to Danielle's fate, they played a role. If you can't see that by putting the pieces together, you are simply unwilling.

If David Westerfield can be proven beyond doubt (not yet, IMO) to have done this, he should pay with his life.

It's too bad there is not a punishment available that would render BVD and DVD incapable of continuing with their risky and disgusting behavior. I doubt their remaining children are all that safe, even as we speak.

I have a new one:
Statement: There were many UNIDENTIFIED fibers found on Danielle along with the SINGLE orange fiber that is SIMILAR, and the blue gray ones.

Statement: Then there were the various hairs found on Danielle. None of which belonged to the accused.

Statement: There were hairs and fibers found in different places of the defendant. NOT IN ALL PLACES. That, IMO, would be inconsistent with the current theory/line of b/s.

Question: If the theory Dusek is using this week is that Danielle was in the RV that weekend and that's why there is officially certified Layla-the-barkless-peeing-wonder-dog hair in the RV.....WHY WAS THERE NO LAYLA HAIR ON DANIELLE AT DEHESA?

I find this troubling. As troubling as I find the frequency of the blue-gray and orange fibers showing up on the persons of LE and search team members. Casual contact is all it takes.

Boy, are you right about more questions! I was just referring to my questions about the 911 call. And I have more questions about that, too. I really, really, really want to know whose fingerprint was on Danielles' desk and whose DNA was mixed with hers on her blanket. And what about that darn dog bed? And, and, and......

Regardless of what degree they contributed to Danielle's fate, they played a role.

I do agree they indulged in what is to me sickening behavior. It is disgusting to me to think they would have sex with other partners, in front of each no less, for instance!

They were undeniably careless and made some terrible decisions i.e. leaving Danielle in the dressing room at Mervyn's.

I do think on the other hand they also had the kids involved in the normal activities kids that age are, and I don't think the kids were outright neglected.

I'm hoping they realize the sick and empty path they were on, acting on base impulses and indulging themselves as if they were still carefree teens without adult obligations.

You are both so very right. The absence of answers should give an earnest and diligent seeker of truth a great deal of concern.

Imagine yourself as a juror. I think most of us are doing just that.

With all these big question marks left floating, could you say David A. Westerfield should be put to death because you are convinced that a) he did it and b) no one else could have and c) the investigation was positively thorough?

I think I would have to vote, "Not guilty" because there are too many doubts. Thus I have reasonable doubt and solid basis for having that doubt.

I don't want a killer set free and in the back of my mind I would always pray that I made the right decision. I would be equally worried about condemning an innocent man. At this point the latter thought would prevail.

On this, we agree. When one is in the depths of and gripped by of such a depraved habit, it is hard to climb out. I pray that they can somehow turn their lives around.

Disecting the call, my question would be dog barking? and alarm beeping?

My question. Why would the alarm be sounding? If neighbor w/ child came over to see DVD and used the front door you would think alarm was off. Unless sensor on front door was off (or was not used front door closed with deadbolt).
In this senario, someone could answer front door without setting alarm off but when kids DVD or whoever went out side doors looking for Danielle it went off.
This would mean that Damon's story about taking trash out was a lie and also that Damon went and searched area streets was a lie. Or did he go out searching for DVD and let alarm go off entire time he was gone and she did not turn it off to make the call?

I don't know WHY the Jury let Avila off, if the two girls came forward and witnessed that he did in fact, molest them. I can't see that Avila had an attorney of Feldman's class, maybe even a public defender, but the Prosecutor didn't present a strong enough case to convict the first time. So the Jury is blamed? I don't know....

Could it even be the standard for "beyond a reasonable doubt?"

I hadn't thought about this scenario. I just found it odd that if the alarm beeped loud enough to be heard on the 911 tape it should have been loud enough to hear the night/morn. Danielle was supposedly abducted from her bedroom. But, then, I really don't believe the VD's version of the facts in this case.

They did not have a monitored alarm. Apparently they never set the alarm either. However, it still had the zone signals, and we know it is very loud.

This brings up another problem, I was going back to the first versions of this tragedy. The original times were:
Pizza party arrived closer to 2:30 and the departure time was after 4:00. It appeared from the article (around 2/8) that the doors were found open at the same time. Could be just the reporter, but maybe not. I still have problems with that scenario. It don't add up, noppers. Were they expecting more guests to show up? So testimony, prosecution's theory and everything else is based on a lie? Where pray tell, is the justice in that?

If DW's story had changed as many times as the VD's, the LE would have arrested him immediately. Why were the supposed last people to see her alive given a pass? And after they lied to begin with.
