this is very true and also very sad. I know there are times my kids are trying to talk to me that i am not really listening. i do try to give them my undivided attention for periods of time, each of them individually. You also can't go to the other extreme. i really can't stand to see adults stop dead in the middle of a conversation with another adult, the minute their little darling starts to yammer at them about something. My kids are told to WAIT, if their father and i are having a conversation.
