Amtrak makes sense ( and cents) on the East Coast...elsewhere, it's highly questionable...

Yesterday afternoon, one of my friends called with a spur of the moment idea: that we go to see "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" last night...

WHAT a funny movie!

jtill - you were right - we laughed our heads off, and so did everyone else in the theater.

Nita - It's Greek ethnic, but you might substitute Italian ethnic, and find it very entertaining! LOL!

Dj - Prayers continue for your sister.

Well, they are saying that a Metroliner would be very popular in the Chicago-St. Louis and Houston-Dallas corridors, but somebody has to front the money to get them up and running...And they're never gonna do it while they are bled dry running these lines that nobody rides...

It's highly questionable on the east coast too.

The AMTRAK CEO is saying before God, country, and universe (as reported in The Washington Times yesterday) that he has, basically, zero lines that make money and that the NE corridor is one of the worst money losers - particularly with the amount they have had to spend recently in track upgrades and vehicle upgrades for the new, high-speed service between Washington and NY.
