AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 521) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | June 26, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 06/26/2002 4:18:31 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

WorldCom discovered for the entirety of 2001 and the first quarter of 2002, its CFO was overreporting earnings - to the total tune over the period of nearly $4 billion. Arthur Andersen was the accounting firm; they claim their work was in compliance with SEC standards and that it was WorldCom's CFO that was withholding data from them. The Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation. A preliminary search of the Internet has not, so far, turned up any connections with the previous Administration. Give it time.

Martha Stewart is now facing a wider investigation into her stock dealings. She says she wants "to concentrate on [her] salad."

The FBI searched a home near Ft. Ditrick. The home belonged to a scientist with access to anthrax.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Get
OUT

You are back!!

Just when I was after tellin' my bubbles that the lasting things seem to be letting me down a bit ... and here I see your so missed and perfectly wondrous mug ... *smile*

Well ... I'll haul out the blunderbuss ... for I need you to help me shoot it ... and .... I guess now's the time I should tell you, I've ... yes ... expanded on my Owl Soup recipe ....

I couldn't do anything less ... for there are so many good and fine cooks here that ..

water
owl
boil

didn't seem to crack it ...

So ... I've added some leeks ... and thought, maybe, it would be a good idea to pluck the feathers ... so they don't get caught in our teeth ... HA!

Oh, Citizen .... I am so happy to see you!!!

Now. Your job is to enjoy your family ... relax ... and then bring your most dedicated ... special ... self back to us... there's many you have not met ... and they will be made better for the introduction ...

as
I
was.

There's only one restaurant that has truly captured my heart with the red snapper dish I mentioned. Several others have tried, but can't quite match the flavor. If you ever get down to my neck of the woods, let me know, because the most famous Cajun restaurants aren't necessarily the best ones. 8^)

I believe you can explain away that weakness by saying you do it to collect the toys. You have saved every toy ever offered and could cash out now in the high five figure range. hehehe

Have you ever known me to argue with myself?

I plead the first. I have a right NOT to answer that question. (I still want to eat really good things for the conceivable future.) ;-)

I have to tell you a funny story about Spam. In the Indianapolis area we have a magazine that fancies itself the arbiter of all things tasteful and chi-chi...Indianapolis Monthly. They did an article in which they took the demographics for certain suburban neighborhoods and "translated" them into terms the readers could understand.

The northside City of Carmel was described as the place where people had boats, listened to classical music, ate baked brie, and shopped at Nordstroms. (The editors all live on the northside.)

The town where I live (where people pay their bills and generally are a bit less snooty) was described as Wal-Mart shoppers who like country music, pick-up trucks, RC Cola and Spam.

LOLOL!! It was SO obvious that the snooty folk had never stepped foot on my side of town. The mayor of Franklin (our county seat) started handing out cans of Spam to everyone. The professors at Franklin College were outraged and cancelled their subscriptions. The realtors on our side of town went ballistic, because they felt it would make people less likely to buy high-end homes down here (and there are a LOT of expensive homes).

Anyway, I like Spam, classical music, baked brie, boats, and pickup-trucks.

And I shop at Target. Ha!

My Beanies are not (nor anything else); as I bought them strictly for their "cuteness" value. My daughter's Beanies are still sealed, and her regular-sized Beanies still have their tags.

I don't even know what the market values of the things are now.............she has a ton..........

and now for something completely different...

FRIED TWINKIES
2 Twinkies
1 c.flour
1 T.malt vinegar
1 t.baking powder
1 t.salt
1 1/2 C. water
confectioners sugar

Chill Twinkies. Heat oil to 400 degrees.
Mix batter and save some flour for rolling the twinkies.
Take thoroughly chilled Twinkies and roll in flour then dip in batter.
Fry for about 90 seconds, just until the filling is starting to melt and the outside is a "nice golden brown"
Top with confectioners sugar.
