We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Last night, a Cessna 182 was approaching Reagan National, and didn't properly identify itself to the control tower. The White House was evacuated. The plane closed within four miles of the mansion before turning away. The craft was then escorted by F-15s to Richmond, where the pilot was apprehended and interrogated. Authorities believed the pilot was simply lost.
Sen McPain (R?-Media) is at it again, with his old buddy Sen. Feingold. The latest notion? Airtime vouchers for candidates and political parties, to be paid for by a tax on broadcasters. Now the Government would be, were this notion to become law, be in the business of who can actually speak on television!
Fox News is reporting that United States troops will likely remain in Afghanistan for another 12 to 18 months.
The FBI has informed all field offices to watch July 4 celebrations to protect against potential terrorism.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
Have a great day. Did I tell you my oldest daughter's name is Molly? I just love that name.
AMERICAS WAR ON TERROR Day 283
The news as reported in The Washington Times:
[Note All links go to The Washington Times website.]
1. A second terrorist bombing yesterday in Israel claims six more Israelis; President Bush cancels a planned speech about the region.
[Arafat needs to be cancelled.]
2. The President plans to combine about 160,000 Federal employees from dozens of agencies into the new homeland defense organization. The legislation also would allow the head of this organization to waive civil service protection on some employees in the interest of National Security. Demonflops say that is simply a ruse to break the union.
[On the one hand, I will tell you from personal experience, many Federal civil servants are among the hardest working individuals you will find. OTOH, there are whole bunches that should be summarily dismissed. But in a group charged with protecting the homeland, there absolutely needs to be the flexibility to get rid of poor performers and worse quickly and efficiently. Once again politics before country for the so September 10 demonflops!]
Democrats call terror bill 'ruse' to fire civil workers
3. The Washington Times has been bringing us news and views for 20 years.
[At least one paper in Washington, DC, reports news.]
CELEBRATING 20 YEARS: The Washington Times
4. A Harvard University professor is saying limited use of DDT could rein in malaria in Africa.
[DDT? This must be done very, very carefully.]
SPECIAL REPORT: Could DDT stop African malaria?
5. Southwest Airlines is now saying their newly announced policy of charging overly large people for two seats is not, in fact, new but has been their way of doing things for awhile.
[What is interesting is the special interest group for obese people says the Southwest Airlines policy is discriminatory against obese people. Well, what about the folks in the seats next to them? Of course, airlines could simply make larger seats and wed all be comfortable but we would have to pay for it.]
2 tickets for large fliers not new rule
6. Day before yesterday, the EPA said the dumping of sludge into the Potomac by the Army Corps of Engineers was actually good for fish by forcing them away from fishermen. Yesterday, the EPA blamed the Engineers for the statement.
[Un hun. Sure.]
Army Corps blamed for saying sludge good for fish
7. Chinas handpicked leader of Hong Kong will begin his second term by introducing a new ministerial system of government that many say will increase Chinese influence.
[No surprise here.]
Hong Kong leader makes power play
8. The big winner in the clergy sex abuse scandal so far turns out to be the whoreyers.
[No surprise here either.]
Lawyers net millions for victims of clergy
9. Washington, DC, area hospitals are expecting a boom, of sorts, of childbirths all traced back to the time right after September 11.
[Some estimates already are predicting a 20% jump in births this month over the average rate.]
Are tiny miracles born out of tragedy?
We shall not rest until we have cut a swath 60-miles wide through the entire left - taking all that is before us with us as we go. We shall leave nothing to the enemy that may be of value to him. We shall show him that he may count on nothing and will be able to keep nothing, not his spirit, not his soul, not that upon which he shall feed. We shall not cease until the moment we have rent through their entire land and have arrived at the sea, with our glorious victory upon us.

Now you have the info, go support the United States of America!!!
Ha! I thought this was part of the plan, if you will remember! If you cannot get rid of the Clintonistas who are in civil service, you simply leave them behind in their current departments and start a NEW department! (Same thing as what O'Neil was doing with those terrorist task force groups to arrest money launderers).
Yes. 'Tis true.
It has also been the case they have been on the Times website - my material source.
Suspect the DDT story is there because it is right underneath their 20th anniversary pitch - which they are milking for all it's worth.
While the attitude has changed, there is something that has never been reported. Until now, I guess, since I'm about to set forth in that measure.
The media spin has been the new Administration was all about "let's forget about the past, and start a new path."
That may have been true at the top most levels of Government, but at the career/political interface level, nothing could have been further from the truth.
The incoming Administration viewed anyone in civil service who was working during the UOx42 as the enemy. It was blatent and it was palpable.
After a few months, most of them (there are still a few that still don't get it) have learned there were large pockets of employees that couldn't stand the last President, but still did their jobs as loyal Americans.
