This is one of those sad realities of life.
I own no such garment. I am of the age that it has been years since I was warm enough to flame "there".
I had another question for Cheney but forgot to submit it...It was "Boxers or briefs, Mr. Vice President"?

Oh my word! Watching Politically Incorrect last night with hubby I mused to him that we must be in bizzaro world, Dennis Miller was talking just like a conservative and then I pointed out Scott Ritter (also on the panel) and told him who he was and that I thought the Iraqis had paid him off. Dennis Miller was actually arguing with Ritter about how we needed to keep these enemy combatants right where they are and we need to take care of Saddam.
Timeout, enjoyed that Larry Miller article, thanks. Dennis Miller had him on a week or so ago, he's a very entertaining guy and I seemed quite conservative. At least about the war on terror and Israel.

What's a Word Wrap?
Ohhhh, I love that one! Think I might have to go buy one of her CDs.
Horsesh*t. You forget I met you when we were both in DC, and IG, you are centuries away from having to worry about that. Ha!
Hello Guilders, what a night. You knew it couldn't be normal, didn't you?
As BigWave was saying I took her with me on the cell phone. I got there early, but I was still in the back of a long line of very well dressed Republicans. I didn't meet Cheney, that was a $25,000 ticket, and I only had a lowly $1000 ticket.
I stood in line behind that Grammy Winning Songstress... Anita Baker. I was gabbing with Big Wave, telling Betty that I was glad that I wore black, and Anita turned around and said " You look great, you really do."
I was floored. I am just a peon, and this is Anita Baker. Anita and I actually live kind of close to each other, and she and I were once in the emergency room of our hospital at the same time. She was having a baby, and I was losing a kidney. Small world.
I got to the magnometers, and my jewelry set them all off, so I had to be wanded. I expected that so it wasn't a big deal.
I got into the event and looked around for my table, 56. I got to the table of 10 and noticed that all the seats had drinks or coats on the chairs. I asked one of the people if the table was full and they said yes, so I went out to the event organizers and got reassigned.
This is where the fun begins.
I found the table, it was lovely, a rose centerpiece, everyone was nice and neat, and it was under a spotlight. Interesting. So I sit down as people are starting on their salads of Boston lettuce, sundried tomatoes, feta, and asparagus.
Did I mention that I was the ONLY one sitting at the table under the spotlight? Well I was. Feeling a little uncomfortable I went up to the bar hoping someone would go sit at my table. Not a soul. It was still empty. I met a man at the bar who asked where I was sitting, I pointed to my lonley table, and he said " We can't let you sit alone, I will send some people over." I was very grateful.
So I sat at the table and started my salad and the parents of the US Senate candidate came and sat next to me. We were in the middle of a lovely conversation, when one of the Senator's aids came by and moved the parents to a different table.
Alone again, naturally.
By now I am thinking that being alone isn't so bad, because at least I can call BigWave and she can hear the speeches. I first have her listen to Lynne Cheney, but it is difficult to hear a loud speaker over the phone. Lynne was lovely in a black suit with white trim.
Suddenly a group of people come over to my table and sit down. I said people didn't I, pardon me, I meant CHILDREN!!!! Yes, 6 children sat at my table. Me, and 6 kids. Uh huh. Six children who's parents never taught manners. 6 kids who couldn't hold a fork, figure out salad dressing, and smelled their food before they ate it.
I decided that I was not there to babysit and picked up and scouted out a table of adults with an empty seat. I found one and sat down. It turned out that several people at the table knew who I was and I ended up having a very nice conversation with them.
Cheney came on stage and again I called BigWave. She couldn't hear, I hung up. Cheney gave a great speech. It was about terrorism and national security. I took some pictures, but I honestly don't expect them to turn out. I was about 100 feet away.
After the speech Lynne was given a bouquet of roses, and the Detroit Symphany Orchestra wrote a fanfare for the Vice President called : Fanfare for an American... Honor and Dignity. They played the song and gave a copy to the VP.
The real exciting part came next. Luc Robitaille, one of the Detroit Red Wings, came out and gave the VP a Red Wings jersey that said Cheney 2. It was great. Cheney was flattered, gave the thumbs up, and the crowd went wild. Cheney's fanfare was played and he and Lynne left.
We ate dinner of filet mignon and pesto encrusted salmon. Dessert was a chocolate cheesecake with carmelized pinenuts. It was fabulous.
I left during the governor's speech so I could beat the traffic in the parking garage.
It was a great night and thanks to Betty for the CSpan photos and live report. It was fun knowing that you were all there with me.
