They overlooked the new Phantasm movie (with Bruce Campbell added to the cast). Certainly interests me much more than another Halloween movie (it's a guy with a knife, and this time he really means to kill you).

Is it a remake of Manhunter?

I suppose a remake/sequel of Marvel Comics' Howard The Duck is out then?

Some of these films are sooo far from going into production that it is a joke to have any anticipation for them. If that's the game that we are going to play then I want to see whatever Bond film comes out in 2007, the year of the double-nought agent!

Well I noticed that Marvel Comics is publishing a new Howard the Duck series by the original writer/creator, Steve Gerber. Yes Marvel still publishes comics but I have to wonder if they would've gone under if it hadn't been for the movie rights and commercial licensing deals.

I don't know how much you read but I think they would have and what's truly unfortunate is that they have chosen to focus on the movies and nothing else. They lost me back when they dropped the Midnight Sons line (with Ghostie, Blade, Morbius, Doc Strange, etc). DC isn't doing that much better it seems. They're putting all their eggs into Supes and the Bat. And do you think Batman could get a little bit darker? I mean he hasn't sold his soul to the devil so I guess they've still got somewhere to go

Generally I don't read any superhero titles these days. I'd pick up the Spirit collected volumes but at $50/volume (and there are 8 so far), it'll have to wait (I've got Kitchen Sink's printing of the post-WWII stories).

It's not a snobbish attitude, I'm just reading more indy stuff from Fantagraphics and the like. The titles that I buy come out so infrequently (2-4 times a year) that I don't even have a subscription/discount at any store.

I did pick up the new Frank Miller Dark Knight series (which has had a delayed publication of the conclusion) based on the recommendation on a FR thread. With the price we are expected to pay for a story like that, the least they could do is get it out on time.

"Die another Day" - The name is Bond. James Bond.

I liked the Bond movies better when "Cubby" Broccoli was cranking them out every couple years. The movies may not have been cinematic masterpieces, but they still have a certain "freshness" to them while the newer ones seem "stale".

SpiderMan, SpiderMan
Who gives a damn about SpiderMan?
See him swing...No, let's not...
Who are we talking about? I forgot.
Lookout! There goes a crazy man!

Just stumbled across this thread ...

1. STAR WARS EPISODE III
haven't seen I and II, but if Lucas is doing the third, there isn't much hope for it.

2. THE MATRIX RELOADED
First one was OK and was often imitated. Hope it isn't a recycling.

3. SPIDER-MAN 2
Spidey rocked on toast. Loved it. So did my son, who wasn't planning on seeing it.

4. THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS
I'm there, baby! Should be numero uno.

5. X-MEN 2
First one was enjoyable. Second one should be good.

6. HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS
Hope it's better than the first. (Have to get busy reading this before it comes out.)

7. TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES
Plot was tied up neatly after T2, don't need a T3.

8. AUSTIN POWERS IN GOLDMEMBER
Won tix from radio for sneakpreview. Wasn't worth the price of admission. (And I finally disproved to myself the notion of "the first 10 minutes alone were worth the price of the movie" -- they were funny, but didn't a movie price earn.)

9. STAR TREK: NEMESIS
Is this an even or an odd numbered episode?? Anyway, there aint no way that a TNG movie will rank up there with "The Wrath of Khan" or "The Voyage Home".

10. MEN IN BLACK 2
First was good. Looks okay.

11. DIE ANOTHER DAY
what is this? Another "Die Hard"? If so, they're usually entertaining.

12. INDIANA JONES 4
Could be good, but it could be another "Temple of Doom"

13. THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS
let's get past the first sequel.

14. HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION
No more. really, no more.

15. RED DRAGON
It was done once already, by better than Anthony Hopkins.

16. THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING
Exception to the "let's wait for the next sequel first" rule.

17. HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONEER OF AZKABAN
"Let's wait for the next sequel first".

18. BATMAN: YEAR ONE
Who's Batman?

19. TRUE LIES 2
never saw the first one.

20. ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO(the third EL MARIACHI movie)
Don't even know what this is.
