Still, it is Jim's forum. It was made popular, however, not by Jim or his moderators, but by the many thousands of conservatives who participated in the forum.
Now, a great many of those conservatives are routinely being spit on -- or worse -- and told to get the hell out of here and that nobody around here wants them here or needs them here...
That is, nobody needs them now that the forum has become famous, and can be used to leverage a very particular, narrowly-defined voice...
It is too bad. But isn't this the way of the (modern, pop-culture) world?
Instead of complaining, I think the best course of action is just to enjoy the remnant of the cool people who remain, and then move on.
