=( I don't know if holding back donations will make a difference or not. I just know that there seems to be a disparity b/w what the Admins allow in the News forum and what they stick in General Interest.

I love our 'required reading' for the day!
Could be a major muscial jam at the reception with Ringo, Paul and David Gilmore.
The Guild has been around since January 2001. We are in the process of applying for tax exempt status as a charity so all our contributions to the Salvation Army during 9-11 and our donations to the USS Roosevelt and USS Kennedy can be tax deductible. As a group I think that we have made the most tangible monitary and investigative contributions than anyone. I don't read all threads but I do think that we are the most organized.
We are a daily thread, but no matter how many requests have been made, we can't get Daily Thread status. Of course there is a catagory for Moose and Cheese, but not for us.
We are NOT chat. I come to The Guild for news and comments, not for fluff and giggles.
I might also add that we have a lot of lurkers. When I was in San Francisco and met a lurker she said that for every one of us, there is at least 100 lurkers. We are popular even though people don't post. During our big drive to donate to the troops, I received email from people who were lurkers but signed up specifically to donate to us. How many times have people contacted me or the forum for our recipes! Do you know how important those threads are around holiday time? Again, more evidence that we are not fluff.
So there is my beef. As Lodwick stated earlier this month, Guilders are the highest contributing group to FR, yet we are stuck in the cheesehole, whereas ' Caption this Photo' and pure fluffy chit chat gets special status in the Big People Forum.
We are activists and we post news. Several of us are actively involved in the GOP as delegates, officials and candidates. We are even planning on meeting during the 2004 GOP Convention. I think it would be great if we could all be in attached rooms at the hotel and just have a huge slumber party. Of course we would never sleep because we would be busy chatting with old, yet recently met friends.

AND ANOTHER THING!!!
Posters here look forward to our Oscar, Emmy, Beauty Pageant and political live threads. Can you imagine watching Miss Universe or Miss America alone without your pals to comment on who's butt is too big and who has fake boobs? Life wouldn't be worth living if we couldn't share with our friends.
Ok, I am done. <
First I believe that anyone who posts anywhere on FR should donate monthly. Bandwidth costs money, and the Robinson family has expenses to meet just like you and I.
Whatever time I have remaining on this earth is way too valuable for me to waste it with idiots and disruptors that find their way to FR - I don't read their drivel, much less reply to it. You probably will have more success at teaching your cat to play the trombone than you will at trying to persuade a dim/lib to our way of thinking.
Not having a GuildButton sucks.
We all need to FReemail John and Jim Robinson and find out what's the prob.
Have a tremendous Tuesday gang. ;-)
