After the United States soccer team's shocking defeat of Portugal on Thursday in the World Cup, I would like to find out who will be watching the U.S. play South Korea on Monday morning? The match is on at 1:20 a.m. central time on ESPN2(fire up the coffee maker).

I did not get up to watch the Portugal match because I was not too confident in the U.S.'s chances but I am starting to turn into a believer. I will be watching this one live. It was very surprising that about 1 million people in the United States watched the U.S.-Portugal game last Wednesday at 4 o'clock in the morning. GO USA!!!

"Columbus Crew stadium is open free to watch on the big screen"

Ahhhhh, that is Fantastic. If I could drive there in time from here in Hershey I would. Good for you people. Great job Columbus.

Columbus Crew stadium is open free to watch on the big screen. They had 3000 for the Portugal match.

If they do show it on the big screen there will be a lot more than 3,000 in the stadium this time around.

I am not really sure about the ESPN2 ratings. Its estimated that an accumulated audience of over 37 billion people watched World France 98, including approximately 1.3 billion for the Final alone. China is in it but have had a very disappointing performance. China has lost 2 games and will not advance to the next round.

In these troubled times for many of us, who love the USA,I would venture this. Any win for the USA ,in any sport, is a damn good win. First watched the famed Arsenal Football Club in WW2 at Brentford, England. Absolutely decimated by the lads being called up for the services though. Welcome aboard USA, even if you did beat England in 1950. It is a poor sportsman than cannot take a fair defeat. People do not need to apply absolutely unwarranted derogatory terms though about fellows who are fit atheletes. Yeah, let the men get on with their game. Oh, up here in Great Lakes country in Canada- rooting for the Red Wings Hockey team. Not a true hockey fan, but wish the best for American friends across the border. Cheers.

...football or basketball or hockey or tennis, yes, they're sports,...

Think about it: Football (AMERICAN FOOTBALL, that is) has players out there players sacrificing their bodies for victory. That is a sport. Same with real non-nba basketball. Not as physical as as football, but real competitors winning by more than a score of one to zero.

Most of the world is also socialist, to one degree or another. It is always the liberals who are always wanting us to be "more like Europe."

The USA: The ONLY nation the matters! We WILL NOT use the metric system. We WILL NOT adopt Socialized medicine. Finally WE WILL NEVER ACCEPT SOCCER AS A SPECTATOR SPORT!

I watched England vs. Argentina on ABC on Saturday afternoon, and it was pretty exciting. The first time I’ve ever watched soccer match all the way through. David Beckham rules!

And as for people who say soccer = boring, please remember that watching paint dry = golfing. Tiger Woods is tremendously talented, but just have him play the game, then report the scores back to us. Don’t make us watch.

I can't figure out why if golf is an American obsession that soccer can't also be one.

Your parents let you watch sports on television instead of playing outside? Do they know you're on the Net?

No offense.

In America it has been a total failure as a professional sport.

THAT'S RIGHT! F--k the rest of the world! We'll keep OUR football, our guns and our inches and pounds, thank you very much. ;-).

BTW: Enjoy the game.
