You're right about her deconstruction, but isn't 22 a tad old to be crying out for attention?
She prolly never had any more affection than the dogs, cats, or any other of the bent props, so wouldn't she have become used to it? Or not? I don't know anything about relating to a family as dysfunctional as the 'toons. At all.

My husband had a friend in high school that behaved much like Chelsea, he'd get sick and go back for more. His parents were antique dealers and spent a lot of time away from home, leaving both his sister and him behind.

By the time he was in college, he was a real mess, and they continued to ignore him. His sister ended up getting pregnant. She had her baby, then became a very vocal pro-choice advocate on the local University campus. (Never could figure that out)He finally joined the Marines, and straightened out. But no thanks to his absentee parents, who were more concerned their BMW, SAAB, Rolex watches and her mink coats.(I would also like to state that while they had all those things, they had absolutely NO CLASS)

Why the rant? Bill and Hill are absentee parents, just like those in the above story. If Chelsea were mine, I would have already gone to Oxford, she's in real trouble.

Hillary, it doesn't take a village, it takes two dedicated parents. You and your husband in name only get your rears to England, your daughter needs you.

Sad story, and sadder that it's one that is repeated so often these days. If parents are not rooted in faith, and trying to do the right thing every chance they get - things seem to end badly for all concerned. And especially the kiddos.

You're right, of course. Chelsea's upbringing was pathetic. From all accounts, Hitlery has not one iota of maternal feelings. Her idea of parenting is to berate the child until she cries, in the belief she's toughening her up for the criticism she'll see her parents receive. Bill, whenever he wasn't out whoring, seems to have developed a rather bizarre physical closeness to his presumed daughter, although it's pretty clear he's incapable of providing moral guidance. The child of sociopaths does not have an easy row to hoe. Nevertheless, I can't believe there isn't someone to step in and stop her before she not only makes a complete fool of herself but becomes alcohol-dependent. (I decline to speculate on Ian's motives!)

Having said that, it's good to be back from my nearly 6 1/2 hour round trip to attend the GOP "get out the vote" strategy meeting. It was informative, but I'm beat! Something about that 4:10 a.m. wakeup call...

"Dick Cheney . . . remains in charge of energy policy. And that scares me more than terrorism. . . . Osama bin Laden can't destroy Western civilization. Carbon dioxide can."

I posted just a few days ago... One of the good things to come out of 9/11 is that the loonies are easier to identify.

Finally, this week, a school in Indiana stopped the rash dead in its tracks. Not one student complained of itching all week. What did they do? The school stopped sending home the kids who complained.

Uh, well DUH! That's too funny!

Osama bin Laden can't destroy Western civilization. Carbon dioxide can.

Maybe every loony leftie who's that nervous about Dick Cheney should plant a tree. That should take care of that nasty CO2 problem.

Globalist lefties hold secret meetings; decry those darn conservatives:

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton joined Prime Minister Tony Blair and other leading center-left figures on Saturday for a private meeting and policy session. The three-day gathering north of London was expected to discuss the rise of the political right, including the gains made by National Front leader Jean-Marie Le Pen in the French elections. But further details of the participants and their discussions have not been made public. rest of story.

More on Chelsea's drunken shenanigans, here, including a snippy, snotty remark to someone who cracked wise about Monica.

Some whackjob (his screen name says it all) is trying to engage me on that drunk Chelsea thread. Shades of ChrisM.! In any event, I will refrain from further commentary.

You must be beat. When I saw your post, I thought your tooth did you in and you didn't get to go to Charleston. Then I read it, and all I can say is I'm impressed. Hope Mr. Mountaineer has a nice bottle of wine breathing for you!

Once you have a chance to relax, let us know what was talked about at the mtg.

I'm not sure what all Bob's got. He sounded plenty sharp, but at the same time very humble, self-effacing, and funny. Prolly a FReeper.

Not to mention, pretty easy on the eyes.

I'm really too pooped to discuss the meeting, though it was worthwhile. I'll give you all the rundown later. Yes, one of my favorite Spanish wines has welcomed me with open arms, so to speak. Whew! It will help me forget my dental problems. Going to sign off now - Mr. M has roasted a chicken and it's time to eat. hasta luego.

Well, I pulled for War Emblem, I really did - with tears in my eyes as he briefly went to the lead, but I honestly can say it was still an exciting race and I wish I had money on Sarava or whatever his name is!

Wasn't Sarava 75:1? Too bad the Guild didn't have a couple grand on him. Oh well, now to see what PIAPS is wearing.

After watching War Emblem's break out of the gate, it's a wonder he didn't shatter his right canon bone or chip his knee. Sh*t, Proud Citizen is hurt. That's what I hate about these races. They run these horses too hard too young. If PETA wants to have something viable to bitch about, they certainly have it here, in my humble (and unpopular) opinion.
