Blue blue vs. Dark blue

Lighter blue headlines on white background are not very pleasant to the eyes--causes eye strain in a short period of time.

What happened to the dark blue headlines?

At first blush, I prefer the light blue.

I like the change. It is a little closer to the way FR used to be. Much easier for me to differentiate between threads I've been to from those I haven't during times when there is a lot of light in the room.

The new color let's me enjoy the light blue font for several minutes after I stop looking at the screen.

I disagree. The current version of Free Republic is great; it's a massive improvement over the "beta."

if you have explorer,can change the colors very easy,go to tools,then internet options,then at the bottom it said "colors",click on it and choose your favorite color.
i got the old blue,with red for visited ones.

Here's a tip............

Don't set the color to white.
