Oscar-winning actor Robin Williams has slammed critics of his role in his latest movie Death To Smoochy. The funny man has faced a hostile reception from people who think his villainous role is an antidote to sappier turns in Patch Adams and Bicentennial Man. The 49-year-old rants, "This is my response - f*** you! Mush! B*******! I like people! What the f*** is that? 'Turning to mush.' For those people, I say, 'If you really want an antidote to Patch Adams, there is Snatch Adams.' They could run them back to back. And there's Good Will Humping. And My Beautiful Behind." Williams admits to being hurt by the criticism aimed at him for his work in the family movies. He says, "It was personal, but I realised the people writing these things have issues. They were reacting to something that was way beyond the movie. People got so vitriolic about it, and I'm going, 'It's a movie!' Was it that it had the Make-a-wish kids in it? Or an unorthodox doctor? You can't explain it, so you just accept it and move on."

Not that I'd suggest he go back to them, but I think he was funnier on drugs.

It would be tough going through you entire adult life knowing your career peaked when you were about 21.

Not that I'd suggest he go back to them, but I think he was funnier on drugs. True....and Sid Ceasar was funnier when he was a drunk.
Comedy is hard.

Nailed it in one. I cannot remember the last time Robin was original in any way.
Maybe cutting-edge comedy is just for young, agile minds.

If you think his movies are bad than stay away from his stand up act.

Why don't you tell us how you really feel?

I suppose the only person un-funnier than Robin Williams is Ray Jay Johnson. And they both occupy the same tier of relevance.

...the only person un-funnier than Robin Williams is Ray Jay Johnson...from The Simpsons:
Homer: "Remember Ray Jay Johnson? He did the same act over and over again and no one *ever* got tired of it."
Lisa: "Who's Ray Jay Johnson?"
Homer: "He said, you can call me Ray, or you can call me Jay..."
Lisa: "I'm tired of it already..."

I saw Smoochie this weekend. Aside from the language,. which was atrocious, it was hilarious. definately NOT a kid's movie tho. Mork's part was, IMHO miscast.
