You're lucky your dog has the motivation to get rid of those nasty little varmints.

My two worthless dogs would let a rat eat out of their dog dish before even looking at it.

My dog is a scaredy-cat (dog?)...sometimes even a leaf blowing in the wind is enough to make her jump back. That said, a mouse got into my house late last fall. She and Tam hunted him down, cornered him and killed him...meanwhile Halvah (the other cat) and I sat on the back of the couch and cheered them on...

Yuck! At least they didn't try to eat it. But she was REALLY happy and excited about the whole hunt. Considering miniature dachshunds (unlike most mini breeds) were actually bred for hunting small game and rodents, I guess it's in her blood.

She has a blood lust that won't quit. She kills mice in the barn too, and leaves them on the porch. I would worry more about her if she ate them, but she doesn't. The cat doesn't hunt at all, so I know he isn't bringing them in. He is almost completely blind and barely leaves the couch anymore.

This dog sat and stared at a pile of lumber for two days while I tried to convince her there was nothing there. I finally moved the pile around for her, and she grabbed a mouse that ran out. Eek. At least she kills them quick, or I would probably try to save them.

I am happy that my paddock bunnies are smart. They stay out where the horses are and don't come in the yard. She got one last year and that made me sad. The horses don't bother the bunnies at all, and the bunnies sit and nibble the hay the horses leave behind. While the dog runs the fence a few feet away. They know where she can't go! ;~D
