He gained 60 pounds for LotR - I was impressed. One of the other Hobbits, Dominick Montaghan, wore a fat suit, but Sean Astin got into the part, apparently! So did Viggo Mortensen, who reportedly lived out in the woods, ranger style, during part of the filming.

Yes, apparently every time PJ saw Sean, he would shove food at him...LOL...

I had no idea Dom wore a fatsuit! I didn't even notice Merry being particularly "stout." Guess I'll have to pay more attention next time I watch. ;)

I bet Viggo enjoyed doing that, especially in a place like New Zealand...
