Why Do Men Cheat on Their Wives?

I wouldn't know . . . I've been married 27 years and have never cheated.

Yes . . . I have had a few opportunities! {;o)

Or it could just be that their wife is a total bi#5h!

But then, my husband is faithful, so I wouldn't know...

Why do men have affairs? For the same reason women do it: they are selfish little children who think the world revolves around them.

Why do men cheat on their wives?

Because it's too easy to cheat on other men's wives.

Why Do Men Cheat on Their Wives?

Dumb question. Not all men cheat on their wives.

Shouldn't the question have been, "Why is my husband cheating on me?"

When a man passes 40, he should get himself interested in something dangerous that doesn't involve sex. Serious physical fitness pursuits, maybe volunteer as an emergency rescue worker, or get really absorbed in something intellectually fascinating. Many men are unfaithful because they want to rekindle a sense of adventure. There are ways to do that without making mooney eyes at the receptionist.

A man's primary need is to feel good about himself...
The problem with us males is that feeling good about ourselves, or meeting our 'ego needs,' is our primary goal in life...
This action then feeds his ego...
The third reason why men have affairs is boredom...
Our sex drive is the second strongest drive within us -second only to self-preservation...

Who is this schmuck? "Meeting our 'ego needs' is our primary goal in life"?! Our sex drive is second only to self preservation? Dr. Gaylen, your analysis doesn't explain the hundreds of men who rushed into the WTC towers. They were risking their lives to save others, not get laid. Your analysis doesn't explain our soldiers' risking their lives halfway around the world so your soft butt can get a Ph.D. and talk as if you really understand men. You understand some males. The best ones you have no clue about.

Feminazis and liberals have managed to turn something many married men (used) to enjoy (without criticism), sex with women other than their wives, into something considered immoral and wrong. Now, I have been married many years, and I have had sex with women other than my wife since we married, but I have never cheated on my wife. Unlike men who have been manipulated by feminazis and liberals into thinking any sex with women other than their wife is wrong, I realize that "cheating" is much more than having sex with another women. "Cheating" means diverting a man's resources and time, that should go to a his family, to another woman. "Cheating" means making love to a woman other than one's wife. However, a little sex with a woman a man is not going to give a second thought about should hardly count as "cheating."

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is lack of character and/or lack of faith. (Yes, I know some so-called men of faith have cheated. But sharing a strong faith with one's spouse will strongly reduce his likelihood of cheating.)

Why Do Men Cheat on Their Wives?

Because they lack conviction, and courage in their beliefs....and when they give their word, they don't mean it...

Any man with a sense of honor does not cheat on his wife period. Oh he will look at the occaisional other gorgeous female he sees and he may even make a gallant complement here and there but to cheat is to be totally untrue to one's self. When one makes the promise to one's partner it is a sacred thing, the opportunities that do present themselves from time to time may be passed.

I never once cheated of my either of my wives and I was never divorced. I have known men who do and IMHO it is for some ego gratification that they do such activity. I really do not know. Now for the single male to seek gratification is pergaps but a normal healthy drive simple biology in practice but if one has found someone with whom one shares values hopes dreams and a total comitment to share life and love then why on earth would one wish to have the knowledge of betrayal on one's conscience? I do not know. So perhaps it is not marrying with the right attitude.

It is easier to cheat than to keep your wedding promise.

It is easier to be out of shape than to work out regularly.

It is easier to sleep in on Sunday morning than it is to gather up the children for church service.

It is easier to a "C" student than to be an "A" student.

In short, laziness.

Simple answer. Men are programmed from millions of years of evolution to spread their seed. Most affairs occur after 7 years of a couple being together (the 7 year itch). This number correlates with the age that most children were able to survive.

Humankind is NOT a monogamous species, serially monogamous, but not continually monogamous. Some men are able to overcome instinct... many are not. Religeon helps one use their mind to overcome their basic instinctual desires.

Very few men are truly satisified with long term monogamy. As much as this truth may offend some.... it is true and all men know it. Some are less honest than I am and will deny this... flame away.
