Two more DOJ officials abruptly resigned on Friday just days after the Democrats swept the midterm elections.

The top prosecutor who was spearheading the Russiagate case against John Brennan - US Attorney for the Southern District of Florida Jason Quiñones - resigned.

US Attorney General Todd Blanche made the announcement on Friday.

"United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida Jason Reding Quiñones submitted his resignation from the Department of Justice," Blanche said.

"We are grateful for Jason’s leadership in combatting violent crime, drug trafficking, sex trafficking, and transnational crime, including the indictment of Raúl Castro. Jason has served the Department multiple times over his distinguished career, and we thank him for his service to this country," Blanche said.

They are all starting to negotiate with the victors, and praying the deal will not be unconditional surrender.

The other side wants revenge.

The other side wants to take power and use it to reward their friends and punish their enemies.

That is the purpose of politics, and it's a shame that the other side is effectively unopposed.

On a bright, highly local note, Bobbi Boudman, a Californian who moved to NH and won a seat in the State Legislature two years ago lost her race for the State Senate even in the face of a blue tsunami, so there's that. If you know, you know.

The most honorable thing Trump could do would be to pardon himself, issue blanket pardons to everyone even tangentially associated with his administration, resign at 12:01 PM on January 20th, and quietly retire to Mar-a-Lago.

Let JD Vance distance himself entirely from Trump’s disastrous second term while he cleans up the mess Trump left behind. This might give Vance a fighting chance in 2028 while allowing Trump to live out his days in peace.

I highly doubt this will happen.

So it is looking now like Comey, Brennan and all Dems will escape accountability. This is more sickening by the hour.

I guess you can’t really blame them. If they get targeted they’ll go bankrupt lawyering up.

That is not going to happen. More specifically, JD Vance won't be cleaning up any messes of any sort. He won't be doing anything at all.

Vance must avoid antagonizing his new Democrat masters.

I expect there will be a Democrat appointed as President in 2028.

Part of the deal Trump made with Mossad to join the war should have been to have them execute a few people.

I fully expect this as well. Hopefully it’s someone reasonably competent like Ossoff or Shapiro that we could tolerate and not a complete nutcase like AOC or El-Sayed.

Kinda why I’d hate to see 2028 wasted on someone like DeSantis. We’re almost certainly going to lose the White House next election. Might as well pick a candidate we can throw to the wolves. I’m thinking someone like Chris Christie. “You finally got your nod. Thanks for playing. Now go join the ranks of Dole, McCain, and Romney in the designated losers club.”

Maybe these resignations mean those resigning do not want to work with Blanche.
