Is Turkey is a problem?

I noticed a recent article citing that Mosques in Texas were funded and staffed by the Turkish Government. Then ran across these:

https://www.meforum.org/mef-online/turkey-uses-mosques-state-employed-imams-to-influence-millions-abroad

https://nordicmonitor.com/2026/02/turkey-funds-radical-jihadism-in-gaza-through-govt-run-foundation-under-charity-pretext/

https://en.yenisafak.com/turkiye/severing-ties-with-iran-goes-against-sovereignty-says-erdogan-3437256

Is Turkey becoming the new extension of Iran? Should it be in NATO, if it’s going to support Islamic Conquest? Any experts here, what’s really going on here.

I would say, yes, Turkey is an extension of Iran and Saudi Arabia and thus a problem.

Their admission during the peak of the Cold War, while understandable, was partley to keep them from beating up on the Greeks. While at the time nominally a secular government, their Islamic cultural heritage made it a bad bargain as the nation has since radicalized. I’d bet Saudi madrassas were key to that transformation.

Their conquest-in-process in Germany continues.

That's a tough question to answer, due to the fact that they are the second largest military within NATO. The U.S. of course is the largest NATO military force.

Within Euurope they are considered to be the 4th largets military force. Within the world it is ranked as the 9th, 10th, 14th or 15th largest military depending upon the source used.

But to whom is it more strongly committed to? That is what makes it a had question.

While it does not officially support Iran and it opposes Iran otaining nuclear weapons, it also rejects the total destructon of its current governance, under the belief that it would create chaos within that region.

The last part is where I adamently disagree with their stance.

It's gamble either way,and not many want to make that gamling decision, if any actually wants to.

For now best to remain as it is, seems to be the prevailing thought. That includes me too, even though my gut feeling differes and vacillates with that decision to be sure. When unsure, it is best to watch closely and look for signs that ultimately makes remaining with the current arrangemnt unwise.

At the time Turkey joined it was a secular Kemalist state. It was strategically necessary to man the southern flank of Europe, control the Dardanelles to prevent the the Soviet Black Sea from having easy access to the Mediterranean. They contributed a brigade to the Korean War and it performed well. EuroPussies allowed the Kemalist government to fall when Erdogan was elected. The Turk generals offered to remove him. The EuroPussies said if you do, forget EU membership. The EuroPussies couldn’t get their head around the idea that the Turk military were the guarantors of the secular Kemalist Constitution. Erdogan took out the generals and purged the military and the rest is history.

Ask Dr. Ahmet Oz. He maintains dual citizenship with Turkey and served the obligatory time in the Army there when he was young.
