The Chiefs are taking a chance where no one else would.
Kansas City has signed Justin Tucker to its practice squad amid a career-worst start to the season for their kicker, Harrison Butker, according to reports.
The former Raven worked out Tuesday with the Chiefs alongside former Rams kicker Harrison Mevis. Tucker made all 30 of his kicks, according to The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero.
Tucker is trying to find his way back into the league after he was released by the Ravens following multiple massage therapists accusing him of misconduct described as inappropriate behavior.
The 36-year-old former Ravens kicker — considered one of the best of all time — was suspended by the league before the 2025 season for 10 games amid the sexual misconduct scandal.
The allegations come from six massage therapists from 2012 to 2016 who described multiple instances where he allegedly exposed himself to them and was also accused of leaving ejaculate on the table after three sessions.
After those six therapists came forward, the number grew to 16 across eight spa and wellness centers.
He was released by the Ravens in May 2025.
While not on the active roster, he may get a chance to play immediately given the shortcomings the team has felt from their long-time kicker Butker.
Butker was short on a 58-yard field goal as he missed two of his three kicks in the Chiefs’ first loss of the season to the Seahawks on Sunday night.
Coming up short from 58 yards in today’s NFL is largely considered unacceptable given where kickers are hitting from these days, with many able to hit 60-plus yard kicks with ease.
Butker has the fourth-worst kicking percentage in the league this year (68.8 percent), with Mevis (released by the Rams) possessing the worst number at 55.6 percent.

At some point, one would think he would learn that looking for the few hookers or willing participants among the legitimate message therapists was a high-risk business, and he would instead simply go straight to the Vietnamese/Chinese migrant "happy ending" places.
The Chiefs can’t say they didn’t know what they were getting.
Make the game better, prohibit FG’s allowed only between the 10 and 35 yard lines. Make them play ball and defense or punt.
Women who give high priced massages to near naked men are usually whores. Hypocritical of the NFL to suspend and target Tucker when one of their owners Kraft did the same thing, continues to sit in his luxury box and the networks take great glee putting him on camera.
Don’t forget Robert Kraft.
All of our kicking team has been accused of “mysogonie” or similar now. He will fit right in.
