President Donald Trump proposed making Venezuela a “prosperous 51st state” Tuesday while speaking to supporters in Texas.
Trump said:
"I want to thank Venezuela, where our relationship has become very, very good, a great one, and billions and billions of dollars are being invested now by the biggest oil companies, many of which come from Texas from all of the world. And jobs are happening in Venezuela that no one thought would have thought possible just one year ago, and we’re bringing out a lot of oil for ourselves. A lot. It will become a prosperous country and who knows, maybe someday soon it will become a prosperous 51st state. That’s possible. Let’s make it the 51st state and instead of a president we’ll have an election for a governor. How about that?
"They have a lot of oil. They have a lot of oil. You know how you find oil in Venezuela? Harold Hamm is here, where’s Harold, the great oil man? Biggest independent oil man in the world actually. Hi, Harold. He told me, ‘You know how you find oil in Venezuela? You look on the ground. There it is’. You see it bubbling. Now, let’s make it, Harold, the 51st state. Do you like that? I do. I do."
The president also promised, “Gasoline and diesel prices will soon come down, plummeting down for the consumer.”
“But I want to thank most importantly the warriors of the United States military, whose bravery made this great victory against Venezuela possible. What an attack it was! Venezuela, you know, they have a very strong military,” he continued, an apparent reference to the United States’ invasion of Venezuela in January.
“And it was all over in 48 minutes, and a Venezuela general, a very professional guy, older guy, he said, ‘I’ve seen a lot of things happen. I have never seen anything like what happened to us that night,'” Trump added. “They came in so fast and so furious and so violent, we just said, ‘Get the hell out of here.'”
The invasion and capture of President Nicolás Maduro took approximately 30 minutes.

For those not familiar with this country (one of my daughters-in-law was born there and I used to do business in Caracas twenty years ago,) Venezuela is a country of 28 million, some of whom live in staggering poverty, and where something under a quarter of the people have an grasp of English.
[A side question: President Trump has bragged about our taking (or even, his word, "stealing") millions of barrels of Venezuelan crude, most recently saying today that Venezuela shipped a million barrels “at zero cost to the American taxpayer.” What does that mean? I invest in energy stocks and would like to know who is receiving the shipment (I'm assuming Chevron) and if the value of this "gift" accrues to US taxpayers or to Chevron.]
Risky.
’I feel Vens hate Maduro not necessarily want conservative priorities like small government, border security, etc.
Might end up with another blue state.
It’s not going to happen. It’s just hyperbole.
Yes. Just another line in Trump’s comedy routine.
Here’s hoping.
“Is this trolling?”
Hard to say what it is, however it worked out quite well with Greenland, look for a repeat.
Uh... No! I’m glad he’s only joking.
This is Dementia speaking. He’s letting all the unfiltered nonsense and unfiltered facts out. He’s doing and saying anything possible to leave a mark on the world. Adding Territory to the US and changing names for stupid pointless reasons.
45 was like this, but not to the absolute degree of insanity it is now. 47 is starting to feel more like 46 II then anywhere near 45 II.
He’s doing all the same shit he (rightly) railed against Biden for. He’s started having speech issues, He’s randomly napping during official proceedings, and his Jesus Trump Picture was as bad, in my opinion way worse, as Joseph “Adolf” Biden’s Dark Brandon picture.
It should be illegal for the White House to be a freaking Hospice.
Can we swap Venezuela for North Somalia?
Now that you mention it, what exactly was gained in Greenland?
The security provisions of the new deal aren’t significantly different from those in the 1951 deal. There is a further provision barring non-US, non-NATO, and non-EU investments.
Greenland maintains its sovereignty and allows expansion of the US military presence (which was already allowed.)
25th Amendment time.
Most places favor leftists.
We don’t need more leftists.
With two Venezuelan senators and electoral votes to go with it?
NO!
As long as Marco can run it off the corner of his desk, I’m all for it.
This old news, it will answer your questions.
SAFEGUARDING VENEZUELAN OIL REVENUE FOR THE GOOD OF
THE AMERICAN AND VENEZUELAN PEOPLE
I love it when DJT trolls the dhimmicraps. Watching this is more fun than I’ve had in years.
It should be illegal for the White House to be a freaking Hospice.

I take it you were a senile Joe supporter?
It’s been 3/4 of a century, time for an upgrade. The way the globe is falling apart the timing was crucial, Greenlanders know Denmark is unable to protect them and that is the best part as they are under the NATO umbrella. Plus it’s a slap in the face to the Russkies and now they have to back up a bit knowing that the US will be crawling all over the North Pole tracking the ancient Russian subs.
Wouldn’t be surprised if there was a mineral deal in the near future too, and the BEST part is that our dems, commies, socialists, leftist liars and so forth can’t do a damn thing about it.
Or he might actually be a senile Joe.
The new “upgrade” is only cosmetically different from the old model.
Greenland was already open to our military expansion: at peak, we had over 50 installations there.
