BREAKING: Brazil's election could be annulled, according to the New York Times.

Electoral lawyers say Brazil's current situation is "extremely serious" and a "critical situation."

The NYT reports that confusion over a last-minute voting extension by Justice Cristiano Zanin, who was appointed by Lula, could lead to the election being annulled.

"This is an extremely serious, critical situation," said electoral lawyer Priscilla Sodré Pereira to the New York Times.

When Zanin made the last-minute decision to extend voting hours, some polling stations had already closed and shut down their voting machines. They could not reopen.

"Fernando Neisser, an electoral law professor at Fundação Getulio Vargas, a Brazilian research institute, said the election could be annulled if the margin is very narrow and it is shown that polling stations stayed open longer in areas that strongly favor one candidate," the NYT reported.

Wow.

🚨 BREAKING: Elon Musk says the math DOES NOT ADD UP after Lula “won” the Brazil presidential election over Flavio Bolsonaro by gaining a whopping +10.2 million votes versus Round 1 — while Flavio gained just 3.7M

Thank GOD Flavio is fighting and contesting the results.

Annul and hold a FAIR ELECTION 🇺🇸🇧🇷

President Trump should be taking notes in case the RATS succeed in stealing the midterms

Don’t bet on that.
It’s going to depend on a lot of factors including Trump’s reaction.

Why do we give so much credibility to some group of assholes at the NYT?

I would love to be wrong. I cannot think of a single time a stolen election was put on hold let alone annulled and reversed

Thanks

“Flávio Bolsonaro’s campaign asked for an extension in 17 cities in São Paulo, Paraná and Santa Catarina states where, his lawyers wrote, rain, floods and electrical outages had delayed or prevented voters from getting to the polls.”

Is there some other basis for the annulment? Both candidates actually requested that the poll times be extended. Flávio Bolsonaro’s campaign requested extensions due to heavy rains in Brazil’s southern regions, where he held strong support.

Just like an election may depend on who counts the votes, these banana republic political cases depend on whose pocket the judges are in.
