Ex-Mexican attorney general could face treason case over deaths of two US embassy officials working for CIA

A former Mexican state attorney general could face trial for treason over accusations that he illegally launched a joint operation with the CIA without telling the federal government.

The operation to dismantle a drug lab in the state of Chihuahua in northern Mexico in April drew attention after two CIA agents and two state officials died in a car accident on their way back.

That raised questions about the Trump administration’s actions on Mexican soil, and outraged President Claudia Sheinbaum, who has made a strong defense of national sovereignty a centerpiece of her administration.

The state district attorney, César Jáuregui, resigned, saying he wanted to clear the way for an inquiry into the operation.

He was arrested Oct. 17 on state charges of illegal exercise of public office, which a judge ruled Thursday can go to trial.

Federal officials later added the treason charge, and a federal judge will decide Saturday whether to allow the indictment.

Mexico has long worked with the US in its fight against organized crime, but that’s caused fears at times that American agencies do not respect the country’s sovereignty.

Sheinbaum and her predecessor Andrés Manuel López Obrador have made legal changes that aimed to stop foreign agencies from operating in Mexico without the federal government’s consent.

Thirty Nine million Mexicans live in the United States and have the gall to tell us that we should consider them “Americans”.

The population of Mexico in 1960 was Thirty Six million.

IOW there are more Mexicans occupying the US now then there were Mexicans in their own country just Sixty Six years ago.

And their “government “ tells us to “respect” their sovereignty?

They have staged an intentional Invasion of our country to try to reverse the outcome of the Mexican American war. A Mexican Supremaacist named Becerra will be the gobernador of California elect within a few weeks after using the illegitimate votes of his countrymen to put him there.

It’s to laugh. Sovereignty? The violations are all theirs.

Mexico’s President, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced that her government is looking into taking legal action against agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement following the latest shooting incident in Texas.

“We cannot allow the mistreatment of our brothers who are in the United States,” Sheinbaum said during her morning news conference, referring to a case on Tuesday in Houston.

As Breitbart Texas reported, U.S. federal agents from ICE were trying to arrest Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a Mexican national illegally present in the United States, when, according to an agency statement, the man resisted arrest, allegedly used his vehicle to ram an ICE vehicle, and then attempted to run over a federal agent. In response to the use of a vehicle as a weapon, authorities fired at Salgado, fatally injuring him.

During her speech, Sheinbaum left out the alleged attack on authorities by Salgado.

“His only fault was not having papers, even though he had been hired by an American company,” she said, adding that the U.S. government and its agencies have a history of oppressing migrants. “They don’t have to be in detention centers or for there to be any violence.”

Sheinbaum claimed that her government was looking into legal avenues, going beyond sending diplomatic notices, which she said, while the U.S. government does respond, migrants continue to die.

While she did not provide specifics on the measures her government would take, she claimed they would be judicial in nature. The claims follow a recent series of similar comments made in March, in which Sheinbaum said her government would file complaints with the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
