James Talarico stopped by Kafi BBQ with his campaign promoting the spot’s “halal take on Texas barbecue” and noting its recognition as Best BBQ in Dallas.
The restaurant is owned by Salahodeen Abdul-Kafi. Before becoming halal grill master, he was Vice President of Product at the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research. 👀‼️
Yaqeen Institute is a major Islamic research 501c3 and content organization focused on promoting orthodox Islamic teachings, including extensive material on Sharia Law.
Abdul-Kafi also cooked for Yaqeen events while working there. He wants you to know he stands with Palestine and his guiding principle is "ihsan."
Talarico, previously said Islamic mystics and poets like Rumi shaped his faith as much as Christian writers. 🆘
Wake the hell up, Texas. 🤯
