This video by Fight for Canada criticizes Ontario Premier Doug Ford and the federal Liberal Party, arguing that despite frequent anti-American rhetoric, Canada remains deeply reliant on the United States for essential resources.
Key takeaways from the video:
Electricity Dependency: The speaker notes that Ontario has contracted to buy over 600 megawatts of electricity from the United States for the winter, citing ongoing renovations at the Pickering nuclear plant (0:45-1:30). He claims that 100% of Canada's electricity imports originate from the U.S. (1:13).
Economic Integration: The video highlights that Canada's economy is heavily tied to the U.S., with over 72% of all Canadian exports going to the American market (2:31-2:45).
Energy Policy Critiques: The narrator argues that the federal government, led by Justin Trudeau and Mark Carney, has prevented Canada from becoming an energy superpower by failing to build major pipeline projects (3:40-5:30).
Broader Political Criticisms: The speaker blames current federal policies—specifically regarding open borders, immigration, and environmental regulations—for what he describes as an ongoing economic and cultural catastrophe (6:40-7:15).
The narrator concludes by calling for a change in leadership and asserting that Canada must foster a stronger, more cooperative relationship with its neighbor rather than undermining it.

Canada is a net electricity IMPORTER from America.
So you’re saying Doug needs to learn how to sit down and shaddap?
Doug Ford is a total Idiot
i.e. he’s a good representative of Ontario voters.
Just who elected their carney barker?
I have no clue as to what liberals are thinking, except trying to win an election I guess.
They are willing to throw away 160 year relationship for the short term of winning an election. The US is under no obligation to continue to treat Canada as its most favoured nation and just treat it like another nation and all that goes with that.
But please treat Albertans and Saskatchewans favourably, we are stuck and did want a deal with Trump.
Literally, nobody elected this guy. “
He was parachuted in and he has one job. Fill the coffers of Brookefield.
Everything he is doing seems designed to allow Brookefield to buy up Canada.
I can understand them needing to buy electricity during a nuclear plant turnaround, but Canada bought $1.4B worth from the US in 2025 and all their plants were running then. They also import crude oil, natural gas, and refined petrochemical products from the US. So maybe someone needs to shut is piehole.
Ontario voters, as I understand it. The left-leaning provinces (Ontario, B.C., Quebec) get far more seats in Parliament than the right-leaning provinces (Alberta, Saskatchewan). The right-leaning provinces produce the most revenue for Ottawa, due to energy and mineral exports. They've started to call Ontario "the leech province."
The prime minister (Carney) is elected by the members of Parliament. Carney, btw, happens to be from Alberta. That's where he grew up.
I have resided in California for 56 years with the last 22 years being retired and living full time in the Coachella Valley, (Palm Desert area), of Southern California. During the winter months, mostly November through April, Canadian snowbirds used to converge on the Coachella Valley. Today, Canadian snowbirds are as hard to find as the Do-Do bird.
The lame-stream media will tell you that it is because Canadians are angry at President Trump and refusing to spend their dollars in the US. Do not believe that as it is pure BS. The answer is simple as Canadians can no longer afford to visit us for one simple reason - the Canadian dollar.
In 2007, the Canadian dollar equaled nearly $1.03 US dollars. Right now today, the Canadian dollar is worth only $.71 US dollars. Back in 2007, during the winter months, easily 15% of the autos on Coachella Valley roads had Canadian license plates. It was near unbelievable. Over this past week, I saw only one auto with Canadian plates, and it was all for one simple reason, and that being the greatly reduced buying power of the Canadian dollar.
Back in the early part of this century, Canadians not only rented homes here for up to six months a year, many purchased homes and lived here up to six months a year. However, now Canadians are selling their Coachella Valley homes, and many of them are keeping their home sale profits in US banks, in order to protect their profits from the near collapse of the Canadian dollar.
Wrong... Canada exports more electricity to the United States, than it imports from the United States. Both nations electrical grids are highly integrated with Canada exporting 32.7 Terawatt-hours (TWh) (or about 32.7 million MWh) of electricity to the United States and importing 22.1 Terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity from the United States.
New York, Vermont, Michigan, Minnesota and Maine rely heavily on Canadian exports.
So Canada supplies an equivalent of about 3 Hoover Dams worth of electricity to the US every year.
