Dems the breaks.
Rep. Tom Suozzi will snub a Long Island campaign event with Gov. Kathy Hochul on Saturday because of a scheduling clash — as other down-ballot New York Democrats distance themselves from the unpopular Empire State leader.
Suozzi’s campaign told The Post that the five-term Long Island congressman was “fully booked,” and couldn’t make the “Nassau County Young Democrats’ Bus Tour and Canvass Launch.”
“Congressman Suozzi’s schedule is set weeks in advance and he is fully booked all weekend,” a spokesperson for the Nassau County pol said Friday.
The cold-shoulder comes after two other Democratic candidates in high-profile midterm races separated themselves from the state party’s standard-bearer, who is up for re-election herself on November 3 against Republican Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.
In an embarrassing caught-on-camera moment, battleground Dem challenger Cait Conley told prospective voters this week that she agreed with Republican Hudson Valley Rep. Mike Lawler after he said Hochul “has got to go.”

Desperate Dems are sprinting away from hapless Kathy Hochul

I think it’s far more common for the Democrats to burn their own candidate than it is for Republicans to do the same. But to date, they burn them so as to make way for what the party thinks is a better candidate. Swalwell is an example. He was running in a crowded primary field. The Democrats wanted to focus on just one candidate and therefore leaked information that he’ll probably never recover from. But Honchul is not running in a primary. So, I’m confused as to why other Democratic candidates are going out of their way to sabotage her. Even if she’s not a good candidate, that means nothing as far as the party is concerned. An extra office held by Democrats, the better off the party. One would think. What am I missing?

Governor Hochul is “governor by accident”, and probably could never have been elected on her own in a straightforward contest. She occupies the office only because of the poor judgment of Andrew Cuomo, partly because of COVID-19, partly some distressing news about personal behavior, and in some measure in selection of his running mate when last elected.
So she is like Kamala Harris?
More opportunistic but just as evil.
Hochul reminds me of George Costanza’s fiancé’s mother in Seinfeld, a lush.
