Marist Catholic High school announced that Zach Loboy has been removed as head football coach of the Spartans.
The decision came after Friday's win over Cottage Grove where the coaches and officials decided to not play the second half after being down 63-0.
The first half included at least two on-side kicks as the Spartans ran up the score.
Marist Catholic Principal Bob Fraley wrote in his statement to the football parents and guardians, “We determined that a change in leadership was necessary to reflect our school’s mission and values.
"Our priority is to support our players, maintain a positive team environment, and help the team finish the season strong.”
Principal Fraley also recognized a change in the middle of the season is difficult - but is confident that Jake Lowther, the interim head coach, will be able to step in and lead the team through the next three games of the regular season.

That has to be the good reason. We will likely never know the real reason.
Good. I’m as anti-“participation trophy” as you can get.
But any coach on the HS level that would onside kick in a game like that is a total douchebag.
There’s a way to win with sportsmanship when you are dealing with a disparate talent difference and this guy definitely was not.
Haybe he was trying to gift them a short field.
When you’re leading by 35-42 points it’s time to start giving backups game experience and using the game as a teaching tool. If the coach did that and the results were still so crushing, no foul. Were the onside kicks intentional, or muffed by the kicker?
After you’re ahead 42-0, put in the second team.
Nothing says sportsmanship quite like clubbing the equivalent of baby seals on the field. Shameful.
