France's austerity budget means less gibs. Able-bodied young men who rely solely on government handouts are angry.

As I recall in the mid late 60s when the students rioted the French riot police did not fool around. They kicked ass in a major way.
I’m not following this particular thing closely so someone else can answer this. Are the police hamstrung by the government? Are they even being allowed to do what’s necessary? Because if they’re not, calling in the army is worthless if the army’s gonna have the same politically correct limits
