What looks like coordinated muslim riots across France. I bet they feel good about their tolerance and inclusiveness which has not been reciprocated.

In modern times the French military has usually been betrayed by their political leadership. Quite often put in impossible situations!

One didn’t need hindsight to see that mass importation of savages was a bad idea.

Out of the chaos will come order, leftist totalitarian order. The masses will cry for the left to save them. So, the worse the better for now.

I don’t know. I suspect it cost a little less than a navy - but it couldn’t move at all. Once it was bypassed, there was nothing for the French to do there, but throw rocks.

It wasn’t completed, either. The French dithered about Belgium, which was their weakness. This made the entire enterprise a waste.

Tanks would have made more sense, but the French people had no more taste for war. To admit the need for tanks, the French would have had to admit what they were up against. The Maginot Line was a pleasant delusion.

I think that we are headed for a time with more than 2 world-class “Presidents for Life”. The future of Democracy (of any kind) is grim.

People need to read Koran to understand what Muslims are after.

—
You cannot understand the meanings of the suras in the koran unless you read the official hadiths and sunnahs: Talibari, Muslim, Isaq and Bukhari; hadiths are Muhammad’s word to his followers, the sunnahs are the history of Muhammad; his motto (sic) was “Kill, kill, kill”...

Correct assessment regarding the Maginot Line. It compelled the Wehrmacht to avoid it and hit the weakest point. Belgium’s Petit Ouvrage was not completed, and Germany pounced on that fact.

Are you implying that the French Army didn’t have armour? Because, if your are, that notion is incorrect.

According to VDH:

Hanson emphasizes that the French military possessed better tanks (such as the Char B1), equivalent fighter planes to the German Messerschmitt 109, and a larger army than Germany. In fact, the total combined forces of the Anglo-French-Low Countries alliance outnumbered Germany in nearly every asset category by a three-to-two ratio.

Perhaps I am in error, but a great deal must have been diverted to the Maginot Line. The surrender of France in WWII was rather dramatic, I thought, and did not devolve into a fight of armor, though I could be mistaken.

No, I have only followed Hansen’s take on this. His take is contrary to what was taught in college.

Thanks for the recommendation. Hansen has made WW2 history very enjoyable; especially his analysis of the tanks and aircraft used (he says the Sherman was designed to be repaired in the field by us troops accustomed to wrenching where the German tanks had to be shipped back to Germany for repair)

My understanding after looking at multiple sources is that the far left French political party which is basically a red green alliance, has sent French students into the streets to protest issues with French education. The left is trying to jin up the leftist young so they turn out to vote for the radicals in the election next year. The goal is to come in 2nd place and then go head to head against LePen in a runoff.

Tell them to disperse. If they do not, fix bayonets and advance. Arrest any survivors found after the advance.

Repeat for the next riot. Machine gun the third riot and I suspect they might stop.
