DemocRATs caused the terrible inflation after 2020 and Trump has slowed it down. Prices will likely not go back to where they were. You would have to pull the money out of circulation that Biden printed and gave away during the CIVID scare.
It is truly a shame that the situation was never explained properly to the American public.
MANY people obviously hoped that Trump would bring prices back DOWN to pre-covid levels.
THAT WAS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN!
But that was never explained properly to the American public. Deflation (the opposite of inflation) is the nightmare the fed tries to avoid at all costs. And only deflation could have brought prices back down.
The best case scenerio was to bring down the inflation rate to where the government wants it to be (WHICH THEY DID!!!!)
Trump and the fed succeeded in fixing the Covid Inflation mess caused by liberals.
But this was never properly explained to the population and then on TOP OF THAT we had Trump messing around with tariffs and attacking Iran which handed the left a gift of blame to hang on Trump and replublicans this election.
When the price of groceries and gas is sky high and the party in power can directly and easily be seen as the cause... yeah... I am sorry, but that party is going to be thrown out of power, even if the alternative is horrible.
The spending orgy was initiated in the last year of Trump's first term, and his complaints in 2021 were that Congress was being too stingy and should be giving out more cash.
"The bill they are now planning to send back to my desk is much different than anticipated," Trump said in a video posted on Twitter. "It really is a disgrace."
The U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate both passed the legislation overwhelmingly on Monday night.
Trump said he wants Congress to increase the amount in the stimulus checks to $2,000 for individuals or $4,000 for couples, instead of the "ridiculously low" $600 for individuals that is in the bill.
Now in 2026 he's promising to send $5,000 payments out:
"I don't know but it's easy if the Republicans win. $5,000 to all adults in the country and we can easily handle that because we're taking in so much money," Trump told reporters when asked if Congress would need to approve the payments
He's completely unserious about the debt, and it will destroy this country.
“The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money” - Alexis De Tocqueville
Let's stick with the facts:

Very interesting video by Victor Davis Hanson yesterday:
Are We on the Edge of an Economic Boom?
(short 12-min. video)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxmoX8vH4xc&list=PLjMHBev3NsoUqkgRlhIJRD40m1vX4pK0r&index=2
He gives his take on what’s badly needed right now to win the mid-terms: a massive and expensive push to counter false narratives about the economy.
The article is not about terrible inflation, but is about terrible gas prices.
And that is on all on Trump.
