The brilliant Bush campaign strategist Lee Atwater, who virtually destroyed the Dukakis campaign in 1988 died in 1991 at the age of 40 from a brain tumor.

Also don’t forget the red wave at Biden’s mid-terms...that never happened.
My concern is the shifting demographics. Young people are easily led and AI is the new covid. Time could be on the side of the left. Then there’s the history of the GOP who like Biden will find a way to F—k things up. I guess we’ll just see.

I was only 10-11 during the 1981 recession. Only thing I remember that it was all Reagan’s fault. Even though he had only been in office for 3 months.
Things that haven’t changed, regardless of party, since the 1980’s.
1. Congress approving enormous deficits spending that is devaluating the currency and destroying affordability and retirements.
2. The Federal Government expansion in both spending and employees (Trumps the only one to have attacked this).
3. Hiding the number of people on assistance in one form or another, and the abuses of the ‘socialist’ system.
4. Congress refusing to protect American industries, American Jobs, Americans as a whole, and the American Economy.
5. Congress people getting rich, while the average American middle class person is being destroyed.
6. Relentless growth in power of the Federal Government, not just in employees and spending, but essentially overreaching into Congressional responsibilities. With the Congress becoming more and more irresponsible.

The decline started in 88 with H. The Globalists went unchecked untill 2016. We are far far far from safe.

I think the crime reduction and reduction in drug deaths alone differentiates him from ineffective presidencies of the past. There are a lot of urban blacks that have noticed the difference.
Democrats can easily lie about stuff because they've got the corrupt 'press' in their pockets. No one is going to 'fact check' democrats on anything that might make them look bad.
It took some time but the Left coast eventually went blue completely by 1992.
Many people here are whistling past the graveyard. They refuse to acknowledge there's a "affordability crisis". Advantage to Democrats for framing the narrative. A loss for Republicans for failing to acknowledge the problem and offer solutions.
How about a list of how democrats are DIFFERENT than us? You know all the stuff I’m talking about - from owning the press to hiring thugs to ‘research (unethical) stuff to feed the press for their support. Talking points? News leads? Folks to talk to ? Fair point but RR was tricked. His cabinet were sell outs and he was on the decline mentally in 86. When H got in the DS was in full control.
I was at the convention when Reagan chose George H. W. Bush to be his running mate. Reagan was drowned out by cheers, but I wasn't cheering. I knew that if H got in, he would reverse everything Reagan accomplished-and he did. The 1991 recession--which lasted until 1996 in California--resulted from Bush breaking his "no new taxes" pledge.
