What is the progress of the White House Ballroom? I tried to look it up with google (cough) and while it said "As of August 2026, construction of the new White House ballroom is reported as roughly 65% complete, the only pictures that the internet shows are of the demolition at the site. Hasn't something (65%) been built by now? Could someone please post some pictures?

I would assume they aren’t showing much until completion due to potential security issues. If there is a pqnic room or secret exits, we can’t have that leaking, let alone structural vulnerabilities.
Andrew Leyden say the 1st floor is complete (including unknown floors under that) and shared a couple of photos a day or two ago, but you still can’t see a lot. Here is a link:

The site says a court has stopped above ground construction, pending Congressional approval. Not sure why that is needed since the work is paid for with private donations.
But if such approval IS needed, and no public funds are required, seems to me that a simple resolution should suffice.

It’s my understanding that the security part below ground and the drone roof that will go on top are tax-funded. The actual ballroom is completely private funded. The original quote was 200 million, but it went up to 600 million with all the new security features added...at least that is what I read.

As other posters noted, all the employees in surrounding buildings have been requested (probably under threat of prosecution) not to take images of the construction. Dan Bongino said something to this effect on his show when the construction began and was underway.

That sort of climb may be the result of the collaborative way our society works. In my 33-year career in business it happened time and again. A military customer proposed a project. It gets funded but only after other potential customers add what they’d like as their project has no prospect of getting funded. So, they put their requirements on the funded project. You can bet people in security and grounds maintenance through in surveillance, a watering system, and refuse disposal. And of course more stuff that has no conceivable use in a ballroom.
In the corporate view, you propose a system to automate your paperwork. Next thing you know the proposed system is carrying all sorts of additional data at a huge increase in cost. Basically, everything I’ve ever worked on has its initial price blown out of the water by such “mission creep.”
Imagine the daily tongue-bathing the media would have given obammy or bitem for doing this.

Stop using leftist terminology. It’s not a “ballroom.” It’s a much more secure, functional, and attractive center for all sorts of events for all sorts of people.
Imagine a Democrat President taking a wrecking ball to this ballroom, then rebuilding it with billions of taxpayer money. Not as far fetched as it seems.
The next dimrat president will either just tear it down, or claim it for themselves, putting their name on it and the medial will dutifully comply.
