(Ouch)
You should show your work...
8 floors = about 80 feet...
what is it? 33 feet per second???
Indeed!
what is it? 33 feet per second???
"33 ft per second" would be a speed, and not an acceleration.
The correct value (of g) is 32 ft per second2.
Inputting your estimate of "x = 80 ft," we get (discounting air friction) a free-fall time of 2.24 seconds.
Starting from rest (v = 0 ft/sec), after 2.24 seconds, your velocity will have increased to 32 ft per second2 * 2.24 seconds = 71.5 ft per sec = roughly 48 miles per hour.

1/2 A T Squared.
It’s 32 feet per second- per second - I used 75 feet since the top of the 8th floor would be 80 feet or so, which I cut down to 75 feet - velocity would have been about 47.5 mph....perhaps the deck was wood and gave a bit.
Newer construction. May be closer to 12-15 feet per floor.
A = 32 feet per second per second
V = A x T
A = 33 feet per second PER SECOND
