Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants? A: That’s right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! (SS history lesson)

ANOTHER HISTORY LESSON ON YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD:
Just in case some of you young ones (& some older ones) didn’t know this. It’s easy to check out, if you don’t believe it. Be sure and show it to your family and friends. They need a little history lesson on what’s what and it doesn’t matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are FACTS.

Up until the 1980's, Social Security cards expressly stated the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes.

Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the "NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION" message was removed.

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. His promises are in black, with updates in brackets.

1.) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary [No longer voluntary],

2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual Incomes into the Program [Now 7.65% on the first $90,000, and 15% on the first $90,000 if you’re self-employed],

3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year [No longer tax deductible],

4.) That the money the participants put into the independent ‘Trust Fund’ rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program [Under Johnson the money was moved to the General Fund and spent], and

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income [Under Clinton & Gore up to 85% of your Social Security can be taxed].

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month — and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to ‘put away’ — you may be interested in the following:

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent ‘Trust Fund’ and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate.

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the ‘tie-breaking’ deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US

AND MY FAVORITE:
Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: That’s right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!

Now, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!

And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it! If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe changes will evolve. Maybe not, though. Some Democrats are awfully sure of what isn’t so — but it’s worth a try.

How many people can YOU send this to?

Bush 43 signed into law the IRMMA law that puts a significant surcharge for one year on Part B payemt.

Foreigners who have paid into their own nations SS system can move here and use their SS crefits here and Americans can do the same.

This was signed into law by W.

IRMAA 2007 (a common typo for the Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount), 2007 was the historic first year the Medicare premium surcharge was implemented.

Created under the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003, it required higher-income beneficiaries to pay a larger share of their Medicare Part B premiums.

If someone comes to the U.S. late in life after working most of their career in their home country:

If their country has a U.S. Social Security Totalization Agreement, their foreign work credits may be combined with U.S. credits to help them qualify for a partial U.S. Social Security benefit.

They generally must have at least 6 U.S. Social Security credits (roughly 1½ years of U.S. work) before the U.S. can use the foreign credits for this purpose.

The foreign work credits don’t become U.S. credits. The person can potentially receive a pension from their home country and a partial U.S. benefit.

If their country doesn’t have an agreement with the U.S., working there generally does not give them U.S. Social Security credits

I’ve worked since I was 8 years old while all these people had to do is just cross a border and automatically get social security and a bunch of other freebies.
What a pile of shit! And I’m paying for them too.
No wonder social security is going broke.
You health insurance rates rise also because part of the money goes to pay for them.
And grocery prices are higher because they get free CASH to buy groceries…….thousands a month. They can afford higher prices so stores keep raising prices.

After a brief look at “GINGERS” text/X post I see errors:..Point #2 for example...the income cut-off for SSA is not $90K, it is $184,500.

https://bsi.com/what-is-fica-tax-how-to-calculate-it-in-2026/

Also “she” doesn’t define “immigrant”...a naturalized citizen immigrant with 40 quarters of work credit into SSA is certainly entitled to SS.

With non-citizens it is a bit more complicated:

https://www.ssa.gov/faqs/en/questions/KA-02447.html

Also the SSA trust fund is intact and not in the “general fund”:

https://www.ssa.gov/OACT/STATS/table4a1.html

Classic “clickbaity”/stir the pot with questionable info. social media post.

I know for a fact that these illegals would claim to be 62 or older just to collect...they would claim lost paperwork.

3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year [No longer tax deductible]

Let me try to understand this. Are the monies taken out for Social Security taxed when deposited, and then taxed again when withdrawn in old age?
