For the first time since 1914, there have been no North Atlantic hurricane formations by September 21st.
Fay did not attain hurricane strength overnight, and has since weakened, with maximum sustained wind speeds dropping from 70 to 50 mph. Weakening is expected to continue over the next couple of days. No other storm formations are expected for at least the next seven days (but that can change).
The only other two times that this has happened since 1851 were in 1905 (October 8th) and 1907, respectively, and like 1914, the 1907 season featured no Atlantic hurricanes that we know of (pre-satellite era data is to be taken with a grain of salt).

I thought global warming meant MORE hurricanes, not NO hurricanes...
In his film "An inconvenient truth", Gore also discussed how warming oceans would cause hurricanes to be more destructive. Climate scientists over the last decade have contributed to a growing body of evidence that human-amplified warming is leading to more intense storms and allowing for the rapid intensification of tropical cyclones as they approach land.

We are heading into Solar Minimum.
The sun is producing less energy so we can expect cooler weather, generally.
But as with all things weather related, we are talking averages over long periods.
No mathematical model is going to predict the future.
I pray that it won’t be a Grand Solar Minimum.

Actually, that’s highly disputed. And the leading theorist on this, Henrik Svensmark of the Danish National Space Institute, says that solar emissions during high solar activity seed cloud formation and cool the planet, and that during a quiet sun there are less clouds so it’s hotter.
But, like I said, the data is marginal at best and it’s a controversial claim.
I reached out to meteorologist David Finfrock about a decade ago asking him about this annual heat dome that doesn’t move. Why every other weather/climate system moves from west to east in North America but somehow this dome just gets anchored in one place. He didn’t have an answer.
Do low pressure systems get anchored like this, ever?
Nope - I remembered that wrong - Svensmark doesn’t say the sun droves cloud seeding - he says cosmic rays do - and when the sun is active it blocks cosmic rays - so the effect is the opposite of what I said and in line with what you said.
But we really didn’t see cooling through the last two minimums. Hoping we’ll see it this time!
I’m actually surprised by her... I figured with her virtue signaling all her young adult life, she would have got herself a black boyfriend and had a couple bi-racial children by now.... I guess I was wrong on that one! ...but maybe in the next few years!
Trump’s fault.
It mostly has to do with where the jet stream is and how powerful it is. Right now it’s REALLY weak and REALLY far north. In general, it’s hot south of the jet stream and cool north of it. And on either side of the jet stream you get storms and the fronts are moving because the jet stream is helping to push them along.
With the jet stream so CRAZY north right now (literally northern Canada) there’s no a lot of movement way down in Texas.
When I lived in Michigan, we watched the jet stream like a hawk. Most summers it either settled a little north of us or a little south of us. Where it settled told you what the summer was going to look like.
I would have to bet she tried with the Gazans - but they wouldn’t touch her.
But what about the next ice age? (It didn’t happen.)
But what about no more snow? (It didn’t happen.)
But what about the Artic being ice free? (Ice is increasing.)
But what about the rising see inundating our coasts? (The normal rise of a few millimeters per year - going on for a good while - has not changed.)
Hmmmm, I think that even science-challenged folks such as journalists, ‘studies’ idiots, DemocRAT politicians, and similar folks to whom third grade math is calculus, might be able to come to a correct conclusion.

It's all because he renamed the gulf to "Gulf Of America"! No hurricane dares to sully the newly named gulf!
We could really use some of that rain in N. Alabama right now.
I have asked ai. It gave some gobbledygook answer. The bottom line is that the jet stream has to kick it over to some other unfortunate soul. But it is still in zonal flow, i.e. west to east. But you are right. It always sets up right on top of us and it won’t budge. Why can’t it be over Georgia or Ohio or Nebraska? I say build that border wall up about 10,000’ to keep all of that hot air from Mexico from invading us.
