Some bros thought they could get away with $250,000 in fried chicken, but ended up giving us all a great story about how stereotypes are extremely on point.
According to authorities, officers rolled up on the group as they were transferring pallets of poultry from an 18-wheeler in the back parking lot of the Economy Inn in Memphis.
The suspects, as you might imagine, promptly fled the scene. All 13 were eventually caught.
Police recovered three handguns, about $110,000 worth of the stolen poultry, and, for good measure, some cocaine and fentanyl.
We're not sure whether this chicken was meant for the family's Popeyes restaurant, the cookout, or the black market.

Decades ago in Hamlet NC a chicken processing plant burned and lots of workers burned too, because the back door was locked. The owner had locked it in an attempt to keep his product from walking out of it. He may still be in prison.
