Indeed ... the Fourth and Fifth amendments have been seriously degraded, and violation of the Second amendment is simply standard practice.
The judge should have tossed the case right then and there.
many small towns and counties don’t have many amenities, magistrates, grand juries are for felonies, used to be circuit judges that handle multiple towns, paperwork on old computers, after 9/11 the government found the computer networks used by FBI, CIA, Marshall service all had different operating systems and couldn’t share digital info for months after the attack. there still are many Barney Fifes and Sherrif Andys out there.
Exactly. In blue states/cities the only ones that sit in jail are “J6ers.”

Normally, here in MA I knew a man, a 50+ old commercial fisherman, who, w/ a friend, drove a car down from Maine to deliver vehicle to a friend, but was pulled over for broken windshield and some arrestable violation (likely not registered). He was arrested on a weekend and placed in the "hole," a temporary cell inmates can be summarily sent to (even for momentarily being too physical in a 45-min. basketball game). He begged guards for toilet paper for 3 days, finally got some the 4th day.
He was later put in the general prison population, but did not got to court for about two weeks. As a smartphone user, he could not remember any phone numbers so in the few minutes a day that he could try to use one of the 3 phones were working, then he had non one to call.
But jails here are far far better than most in the world.
You are correct. There are horror stories out there. Stuff like this happens.
This sounds like that guy in New Mexico a fews years ago. IIRC, they arrested him on DUI and threw is ass in county lockup solitary and completely forgot about him for 22 months. Got $15.5 million.
Seems like he ought to be paying rent or something instead of bragging about his free accommodation

I've been toying with the idea that the concept of qualified immunity needs to be extended to non-police: can you point to the publicity of the law that has been violated? That's one of the reasons that most prosecutions have to prove intent.
We unknowingly commit a dozen felonies a day. Some prosecutor would just love to have another notch on the belt. From what I read this man has not even been tried. We are innocent until proven guilty. Not the other way around.

He ignores his client 24/7. That takes work you know. So 168 hours a week are the billable hours.

This sound egregious, but without other information, not useful IMO.
It not only sounds egregious, it is egregious. Stephen Adams was charged for a horrific kidnapping. I don’t see that it matters. He (or anybody, including you or me) could just as easily have been charged with something relatively minor (perhaps erroneously - the old innocent until proven guilty thing) and held for two years without representation or a hearing. The miscarriage of justice stands separate from the charges.
