WASHINGTON (TNND) — Protesters are planning to link hands around the Kennedy Center in a public show of opposition to what organizers describe as political interference in the arts and changes at the landmark Washington venue.
Hands Off the Arts will host a “Hands Around the Kennedy Center” rally, beginning with a gathering on the Kennedy Center steps and culminating with a human chain around the building.
Organizers say the event is meant to protest the “President’s defacing of JFK’s memorial, his removal and censorship of art, and his threat to demolish the Center if he can’t remake the site in his image.”

It will be a bit harder with the lack of USAID cash. They will need another way to get a rent-a-mob.

None of the actions they say Trump is taking is true. People are so easily duped.

Don’t you love the Libs! They want money to build the Kennedy Center which opened in 1971, but 55 years later the building need major repair and where in the budget was the maintainance budget? They cannot provide upkeep to their special center!

If it’s built like the former Nasif Building in SW DC at L’Enfant Plaza, by the same architect and of similar design, they are endanger of a marble facade panel falling on them. Nasif was also a piece of crap building. It was formerly the DOT HQ.

If the objective is to demolish the building, cut off the utilities and let the protesters inside.

There is already money to restore and maintain it. Was approved as part of the OBBBA, passed into law and signed by President Trump.

President Trump wants to be recognized for helping to renovate the Kennedy Center and is not allowing renovations to begin until his name appears somewhere on the building.

I recall that when it was built in the 60’s, the architecture critic for the Washington Post wrote that its proportions made it unattractive. He compared it to a woman’s figure which instead of being 36-24-36, was 66-54-66. He was correct, both with regard to how it looks from the outside and how it looks from within. Worse still, I can’t think of one venue on the inside which is good: the concert hall and the opera house are only mediocre, at best.

Excuse me, but shouldn’t that headline read “unfounded” alleged arts censorship?
Or does that word only apply to comments from Trump?

And yet it never goes to fix the building, just more shake down $$$$$. Who as a Congresscritter would not vote to help the Kennedy Center? So that was easy. Then the Board determines studies are needed…. Oh Bob your boy can study, can’t they? Well sell up a company and get some “study money”……. Fred, we need a trip round the world for the Board to see what other Centers do for maintenance…. Let’s start with the Greek and Roman “Centers”! Oh and we can appoint your wife’s as assistant or body guards….. He’ll make that both! A Twofer paycheck for her!
And so it goes, not the repairs, the money!

If someone feels that their “art” is “worthless, talentless trash”...how is that “censorship”? It is merely a (correct) opinion.
