Hundreds of thousands of Iranians flooded the streets of Tehran on Friday for a government-organized rally calling on civilians to join the military and prepare to “sacrifice their lives.”
It was the largest demonstration in the country since the United States and Israel attacked Iran in February.
Dubbed “Janfaday-e Iran,” or “ones who sacrifice their lives for Iran,” the rally was designed to project national unity as Tehran faces a worsening economy amid US sanctions and a naval blockade of Iranian ports.
But the spectacle was also a show of force for Iran.
Iranian state media said more than 300,000 people were on the streets Friday, and Gen. Hassan Hassanzadeh, Tehran’s guard chief, claimed over 600,000 people had already registered for the military-training campaign.
He said more than 1 million could ultimately participate.
The volunteers are expected to receive basic military training, including instruction with assault rifles, and would provide a new layer of security alongside Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its Basij militia, which has played a key factor in removing anti-government protests.
The head of the Basij, Hossien Taeb, declared in a speech that the volunteers will be ready for “full-fledged defense” and that similar rallies will take place in other Iranian cities.
Taeb said the new trainees will create a “nightmare” for Iran’s enemies.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, military commanders and other senior officials were in attendance at the rally.
Some demonstrators stomped on American and Israeli flags, while crowds chanted “Death to America!” and “Death to Israel!”

Probably the easiest way to sacrifice their lives is to say “No, I’m not going to that rally.”
Iran and China have one thing in common: RAMPANT LYING.
Are we supposed to believe "pissed off females" whose magazines are taped up?
It's my read that they were commanded to appear this way...or lose what little they had left. But, maybe I'm imagining it.
Iran was trouble then in 480 B.C. against "Persia." NOTHING has changed regarding the people. And MAYBE I'm 100% wrong.
I remember the 1970's here at home. The Persians were the biggest PAIN in the neck THEN. The Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, was forced to leave Iran on January 16, 1979, and his government officially collapsed on February 11, 1979, during the Iranian Revolution.
If it weren't for the Greeks we would all be speaking FARSI now. Yuck.
Now we have a President who KNOWS what a-hxxxes the Iranians are and who isn't going to let THEM decide what's going on. Hurrah for our HUGE aircraft carriers. I hope they BOMB the p*** out of what's remaining of Iran.

They remind me slightly of Japan at the end of ww2. Despite the commie-philes going on and on about the “great” red army offensive of 1945 Manchuria. It was greatly overrated: 1. It only killed about 20,000 Japanese 2. They were 3rd and 4th rate troops, mostly garrison units with barely trained soldiers armed with ww1 weapons.
The elite Japanese units like air-armor-1st division -16th division etc had all been sent to the Pacific and been sunk, then chopped up when the finally met US ground forces.
And that is exactly what Iran needs to beat us. Not a million half trained people with rusty AKs. They need AirPower, naval units good AA. They do have some drones.
Unkess we are foolish enough to invade …(without a massive civilian uprising).

The younger one near the center and looking up, with the bipod, may have the only loaded weapon and be instructed to shoot the others, if they don’t look happy enough.

Naturally, much of the media repeats Iranian propaganda, whatever they say. I've seen video, there were 2 or 3 thousand at most. It looked like the majority were women.
The magazines were probably taped up so all the women who have never handled firearms before won’t drop them, without even noticing.
And the UN is branding Trump and America as war criminals... What a joke. These loons are sacrificing their own people without a whiff of care for their human lives.
Like they have a choice.
