CNN anchor Dana Bash lamented on Thursday the findings in a new poll out of Michigan that 45% of the electorate would not vote for a Muslim candidate, calling it "just gross."
During a panel discussion on the U.S. Senate race between Democrat Abdul El-Sayed and Mike Rogers, Bash noted, "We have new data about that that I do want to get to. First, let's just look at the overall polling that Erin, you were talking about. There's a brand new poll out from The Washington Post this morning that shows El-Sayed at 48, Rogers at 45. With the margin of error, it's a statistical dead heat."
"And then the question, which kind of goes to the strategy here, perhaps, by some voters who are thinking about the balance of power in Washington: 'What is your preference for party control in the US Senate?' Democratic, 53. Republican, 45," Bash said, adding:
Now let's get to what you were just talking about, Nia. "Would not consider voting for a presidential candidate who is…" Atheist, 46%. Muslim, 45%. Jewish, 20%. Christian, 7%. These are Michigan voters, the people who are going to go to the polls to decide between Rogers and El-Sayed. 45%?
"Yeah, I mean, listen — Barack Obama had to deal with this, right? I mean, he had to deal with the reality that some people in 2008 were not comfortable voting for a Black man for president, a Black man that people thought was Muslim, and all that kind of stuff," replied Bloomberg columnist Nia Malika-Henderson, who added:
So, you know, if you listen to Abdul El-Sayed, he says, "Oh, there are many Abduls in Michigan, and take my name out your mouth if you can't say it correctly."

Again, one of those strange polls. If 45% of people won’t vote for a Muslim, then how is a Muslim leading in all the polls. You have to think that some people who said they would vote for a Muslim have said they aren’t voting for this particular Muslim.

I thought it was interesting that people are even more opposed to atheists than Muslims. I guess that a positive; it shows they prefer candidates of faith. The the question is: “Which faith?” Muslim is considered a faith, even though it’s a death CULT. So it’s a little convoluted.
Just proves that 45% of Michiganders are smarter than Dana Bash. The problem is the other 55%.
There’s truth to the fact that Muslims will vote as a block, so Abdul will get their vote - we’re talking Dearborn here. What isn’t well understood by the media, Michigan also has places like Sterling Heights, which is dominated by Chaldean’s, Iraqi Christians - those that fled Saddam’s Iraq. They despise Muslims and will vote against him.
So, there’s an “offset wash” to some extent here and I can’t imagine most of the rest of Michigan voters voting for him.
I believe he will lose badly, assuming integrity in the voting process.
Thomas J Smith won. He had dropped out of the race a month before. He had done almost no fund raising.
But he sounded American. I am not saying that was the only reason. But it played a part.
There is a back lash coming.
It may not be fair to those who have come here and integrated to tar them with the same brush as those who have come here to loot but it is happening.
Politics is a dirty business but who wants to vote for a member of death cult? Who would happily kill you, your family and your dog?

A majority of indigenous Negros in America are mulattos. Very few, if any can trace their ancestry solely to black Africans.
