Macron does something historic, at last: becomes the most unpopular French president in recorded history.

His downward trajectory seems to have no end.

As failed French president Emmanuel Macron drags himself along to finish his second and final presidential term, we see him striving to make a mark, to leave some sort of legacy other than chaos and social upheaval.

So, he tries to ban social media for teens, in the name of ‘Child protection online’; he defends ‘Space sovereignty’ with his flopped Space Summit in Paris;

He doubles down on defense, rearmament, and power projection, just as France got kicked out of Africa by its former colonies.

He meddles in the creative industries with his Lumière Summit;

And, of course, pursues flashy, news-worthy initiatives like his Palestine recognition.

But, as it seems, all this frantic activity is not working with the French people.

French President Macron hits record low.
