With all of the “AI Is going to kill us all” talk this week, I think something happened the public doesn’t know about yet….

They think they can keep it in a box; we’ll see.

Because they will lose their shirts, more likely. Anthropic does NOT want “open” AI...

“citing safety concerns over artificial intelligence” Makes sense to me-if OpenAI-or one of the others-goes public-and some savvy-and-insane tech-type terrorist(s) manipulate it to hack/cause a breach of security in some essential infrastructure or other system-major power outage, water contamination-even a nuke facility mishap-and major damage/loss of life happens-Katie bar the door.

If immediate and violent retaliation by the furious people affected don’t send their company into a death spiral, the legal storm/free-for-all that follows will-by way of planet-sized damage awards, prosecutions and prison sentences, etc. They will be bankrupt and out of business in record time-better to sit down, shut up and NOT invite that by going public...

IMO
AI high level requirement 1.001.
Human software engineers will retain control over AI capabilities and will be able to enable or disable AI capabilities at will (or something similar)

Without this why even bother with AI.

FTA: safety concerns.... HA!
The stock would go south like SpaceXAI did.

AI is already being used on local computers making movies and music. Data centers are being cancelled because of new software and chips making the huge centers not being needed.
