Gay McDougall comes from the law firm of Debevoise, Plimpton, Lyons & Gates, which represented prisoners at Guantanamo and Columbia University pro-Palestinian rioters. She participated in the 1998 Black Radical Congress, run by members of CPUSA and the CPUSA spinoff Committee of Correspondence for Socialism and Democracy, which allows dual membership in CPUSA, DSA, and the Socialist Party USA. They work closely with FRSO and Black Lives Matter.
