PLYMOUTH, Mass. – A judge declared a mistrial in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial Friday on the seventh day of deliberations — but gave her defiant lawyer one hour to file an emergency appeal against the ruling.
The 12-person jury – made up of nine women and three men – told Judge William Sullivan that they could not agree on whether to convict Clancy, 36, of three counts of first-degree murder.

I’m not surprised someone held out. I’m surprised it’s only 1. I would have expected a split with some voting to acquit by reason of insanity, some voting to convict on manslaughter and some voting to convict on first degree murder. The 11:1 is very strange.
Im the kind of gal that defense lawyer would NEVER want on his jury. Id tell him to his face “She’s a murderer, I dont believe your psychosis bull sh*t and NOTHING you will say will change my mind so F off”
One child ran to the father's office hoping to find him and get help, but he wasn't there. Lindsay Clancy chased their child down and strangled them.

I get defense attorneys vigorously defending their client. Heck I’ve needed that representation myself but what her lawyer has been doing is way past that IMO.
This morning he tried to tell the judge how to do his job AND in so many words told the judge he didn’t know how to do his job.
If I were that judge I’d request the bar sanction his ass for that.

I disagree. I think the holdout prevented a conviction. The jury instructions that the judge re-read stressed the need for reasonable doubt, not completely free of all doubt. The holdout may have doubted she did it of her free will, instead was pressured into doing it by aliens from outer space. That is doubt, but it’s not reasonable doubt.
I think they mean it in the football sense....
They can try to make the man’s life hell but he can also turn the tables on them and sue them harrassment, illegal tampering of his right to decide what the verdict is...I mean I don’t know all the laws involved but if they went after this guy he can turn the tables on them and reveal who they are as well to those who feel the lady is guilty. They can protest him but he can make sure that others will protest them and will know who they are!

If it were 11-1 to convict the defense lawyer wouldnt be begging for the lone juror to be removed, he’d be the one begging for a mistrial..he doesnt want one, he wants that lone juror gone since he knows this is his ONLY chance of getting 9 women who support murdering children on a jury ever again. The prosecution when trying this case assumed that most women would convict this murdering schmuck, they had no idea that most women condone this, they support the killer, so next time they will make sure its at least half men on the jury
Every supporter of Lindsay Clancy should be forced to have their children (and grandchildren) be taken care of by her.

The jury DID have the option to drop to the lesser charge of 2nd degree murder. They were going either for acquittal or one of the mental incapacity options.
I’d be that holdout too. The reverse of 12 Angry Men, going for conviction.
Hung jury? F that, hang that cold hearted murderous biatch.
Or to replace the holdout with an alternate.

From her reactions and comments I have told her on many occasions to do me (and herself) a favor and never get on a jury.
They’d just kick her off anyway. 😁
Weird thing is they must know her, she has NEVER been summoned for jury duty....ever.

The bigger issue is going to be charging her with a lesser offense - I think that's what defense counsel is trying to avoid.
