Efforts to bring power back to a notoriously-scary town in Indiana were halted after crews were shot at overnight following devastating storms.
After violent weather left thousands without power for around two weeks, efforts to restore electricity to Gary were briefly paused thanks to a shooting on August 15.
Utility workers with NIPSCO were scouting on Rutledge Street when gunfire erupted just after midnight, hitting their Jeep.
'I heard something like a big explosion, boom! Then I heard two more, boom, boom,' resident Kenneth Lewis told CBS News.
While neither of the two employees were injured, the company vehicle was struck twice, including one bullet which became lodged in the back of a headrest, the outlet reported.
'Let me be clear: this type of violence is absolutely unacceptable and will not be tolerated in the City of Gary,' Mayor Eddie Melton said in a press release.
'These crews are here for one reason - to help our residents and restore electricity to families who have already endured days without power.'

I'd bet money the guy running the power station in Gary, Indiana is the mayor's cousin, drives a Mercedes G-Wagon, and all the funds set aside for emergency maintenance are unaccounted for.
This is pretty much par for the course in every black-run municipal warlord kleptocracy.

We were without power for a week after a major tropical storm came through. I new we were at the end of the grid just because of where we were located at the time.
Power crews finally show up and I walked up to the crew...they started backing away saying they’re doing the best they can. I hollered I’m not not here argue I just wanted say thanks for everything you guys are doing.
Caught em off guard. They said thanks and stated they’d been hollered at, things thrown at them, threatened etc and wasn’t sure what my intentions were.
Pretty sad.. I said we’re surviving fine but appreciate everything they did again.. power was on a few hours later.
That was the 2nd time that happened. Now our retirement home is at an end of grid location as well and power goes out frequently for a few hours at a time but we’d have the whole home generator and can run about week full time if needed but it’s been used very little. Power goes out it’s pretty quiet and relaxing!!

Of course it is, every single damn time..and they wonder why they cant fix the power, yeah its hard fixing the power lines when the crew members are being shot at
The black community wasn't invited to the No Kings rallies or any other rallies recently.
If they're shooting at firemen because they're black and white they'll be doing without power longer than sane communities. And yeah, power goes out from time to time. The 'community' needs to reign in their thugs.
It was a helluva storm. It missed me by about a mile. NIPSCO had 300,000 out of 500,000 customers without power at the outset, and 95% of Lake County was out. The National Guard was sent, along with lineman from other areas. Crews were in Gary...until they were shot at. I am not surprised that priority was shifted to places where crews were less likely to get shot.

The shootings need to stop so that the copper wire can be stolen.
Don't know what Michael Jackson's got to do with it. Other famous people besides the Jacksons were born in Gary, like Alex Karras and Frank Borman. Oh well. Click bait, I guess.
